A number of groups have shown that it is possible to kill the latest Tequatl, without exploit tactics.

In the two times I’ve failed since the change, I got 2 chests in one run and 3 chests in the second.

If it’s too much of a time investment, why try to force your needs down the throats of everyone else?

There is a huge amount of content in this game – if you think you’ve done it all, you’re not trying hard enough…. I will concede that if you are in the top 1% of achievement point hunters, you’ve definitely given the game your all, and that’s just the pain that being in the top face ths.. and I expect your /age demonstrates that you aren’t concerned that ArenaNET doesn’t supply enough content.

Still think that Teq is “too hard?” Maybe you should read all the threads complaining that the game is too easy. Listening to the map commander instead of crying in map chat about how unfair life is will present you with better results.

Works pretty much exactly the same as it does in the outside world.

I’ve read EVERY “hard” and “easy” thread – using my soapbox to push your own agenda is pointless. I’ve been Tequatl. Twice, this week. Why? Because as the great Commander Peter Quincy Taggert said:

“Never give up. Never surrender.”

Go play Pac Man past the apple levels for a bit, then come back and tell me how hard this game is.

Ok, get your fingers ready to scream bloody murder. I don’t care, you’re still wrong.

It’s just a game. Let’s try to keep that in perspective. If you enjoy that….well great. I use to enjoy a lot of things about guildwars too.

Weren’t you talking about exploits, earlier?

Seriously, though, this too shall pass. I’m not sure that the crit box is the greatest of ideas, but I’d guess that in a month everyone will be Teq-stomping as usual.

No, wasn’t me talking about exploits other than the mention of not using them for these runs…

I agree, Ricky!

i think what rubs me the most about tequatl – is that it became like a nice place to meet up with people, have food fights and hunt things down while we waited for tequatl, then after we got everything, we’d all say what we had – that was almost more fun than the prize…

Now while I enjoy a good challenge like everyone else, Anet takes the most popular places and changes it , they fix what works ….and totally ignore what needs fixing or more excitement. They keep changing things that become popular , and do nothing to make things that they insist we visit with dailys more popular.

So it’s not tequatl getting suddenly hard that bothers me, it’s anet doing what they’ve done to hall of heros, skill bars, guild halls, lions arch – they fix what works and ignore what doesn’t. then add more stuff / rinse / wash / repeat. The only thing i can sense from the expansion is that anything i like or becomes fun is going to be changed, and anything no one really cares to visit will be part of the daily.

the game is so huge, why always pick on the popular spots where people actually get along and play nice together ? over-production.

next time a group gets along nicely together regularly at some event, instead of fixing that, how about making a new less visited area even better than the last ?
Tougher remixed fights invite trolls to play the blame game – where as a new dragon / boss in a new area inspires new team work.

I happened to be in sparkfly fen the other day when tequatl was happening….. and I swung by the event to check its progress.

What I saw was people failing to defend the lasers and batteries, getting wiped by tidal waves, and then blaming their failure on the changes.

LOL

Some people are willing to blame everyone else but themselves.

If you were able to kill tequatl before the changes, you will still be able to kill him no problem.

My old guild used to kill him with 10+ minutes remaining every time before the update.

…and guess what…. they can still kill him after the update with 8 minutes remaining.

I don’t think tequatl is hard but I just think he got to much Health point at the moment. The glaring issue of the current tequatl is that he don’t fit the “play what you want” idea. Nothing more nothing less.

PS: i’d like to say that this thread shouldn’t be in the HoT sub forum

No core profession should be balanced around an optional elite specialization.
