Congratulations on releasing the first expansion to GW2, Anet!
Now is the perfect time to shake off your dusty veteran developers and continue where you left off in Guild Wars: Beyond!

What happened to Evennia? Who is the Nameless Lich? What of the Lunatic Court?
How did Palawa Joko regain power?
How did the Ebon vanguard reach Ascalon and found Ebonhawke?

This and more was left incomplete in favor of putting the finishing touches on GW2. It’s about time you go back and finish what you started, Anet!

Now, I know you won’t do anything if it won’t make you money, but consider that there are many GW1 players who still play, many other who would happily go back to play new content, and many GW2 players who would probably enjoy seeing the origins of the game they play every day!

I know it’s a long shot, but maybe consider it. The decade weapons were awesome, and I’d love to see more!

Im pretty sure the whole point of the gw beyond was to set the stage for future stories to be continued in gw2. So its likely all of those story points are ment to be flushed out in guild wars 2 and not in gw1 time period.

I would love to see those stories get continued at some point in Gw2.

That’d be great to be able to have new content for GW1 (never had the opportunity to really try the changes to elementalists’ overcast), but i think it would be even better, and that would be a way for ArenaNet to have an interest in it, to add Beyond content as bonus Historical missions in GW2.

Imagine that : a campfire near the Durmand Priory, with scholars gathered with you, to tell you stories of yore. You choose the scholar to choose what story, aaaaand zap, you’re living it from the inside! ^^

They have already done something like that with books in the 1st GW, before Beyond. So why not include something like this now?

And i think i have to check the suggestions forum now…

I would buy the kitten out of any lore based missions of old lore events in GW2.

GW1, nah not so much, i’m done with that game

Instanced stories in gw2 about the past would be interesting however there isn’t any reason for ANet to stop the momentum of a storyline about killing dragons to revisit past events. Not unless they tie directly into the current story line. Even then, books or an NPC telling you the story would be immensely cheaper.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

Yet they already used it in season 2, with the caithe storyline.
I’d love something like that for background lore, you know not needed but optional extra lore packs, i don’t think it’s that hard to develop when the HoT-pressure dies down. I’d pay about 500-1000 gems for a background story that was about 2-3 times the lenght of caithe’s story in season 2 living world, as long as it covers a major historic event. Don’t have to balance it around every class either, since you aren’t playing as you.

Just something i would like, not that we need it, but it would be nice.

Caithe’s storyline was telling relevant background information about a person currently living and it was directly tied to the dragon story, so the comparison is not relevant to what the OP asked.

He is asking for events that happened 250 years ago to be made as stories. Unless directly relevant to this story line, there is no reason for the devs to detour away from the story they are telling and tell another story.

When you’re telling a story, you don’t stop in the middle and start another story. Not without very good reason tied to the storyline.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

Just do something like the Bonus Mission Pack for GW1.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_Bonus_Mission_Pack

It had past stories that you could play out as the characters of that story. In the end, after you finished the story, you got your choice of a weapon skin related to that story. It had multiple achievements to get as well, that would give you multiple weapon skins when you finished it too (well, it gave you books that you could turn in for skins).

I think that would work better than trying to incorporate it into the Living World somehow. It would be like reading a story that is interactive. Sell it on the Gem Store and people would gobble it up trying to get the new skins for new collections. Plus you’d get to learn about what happened in between those 200 years.

Sell it in volumes if you want, that way you don’t have to make a bunch of them at once. Have each volume tell a different story and offer unique weapon skin for that story as a reward.

A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.

incoming fractals ?!?!!

Noooooo! Although I like fractals, this is NOT the answer, especially for players who are into GW’s lore, and want present answers to century-old questions. Fractals make their storylines almost meaningless in a way due to not having an impact in the current world or the ongoing and current storyline. Again, I like fractals, but fractals are mere snippets of time and space in GW lore. For something of GW: Beyond’s scale I think GW itself deserved an actual ongoing storyline that tied to it.

PS: Also, GW Utopia???? Chronomancers + The Exalted seem to be leading towards something akin to what was planned for Utopia.
