It's your fault for price increasement
Ascended armor is a total joke anyway, I agree. If anything, make the leggings and then call it a day.

If you don’t make your Ascended gear now, you’ll be left behind. So I suggest everyone go out and buy Linen and Silk scraps by the truck loads.
For every stack of mats sold, a quaggan gets his wings.

Says the flipper?(jk)
Yup exactly, don’t blame the TP manipulators. You’re the one to blame for getting all stressed out and buying highly increased-in-price materials.
If you didn’t stress out right now and bought in quantity, the prices wouldn’t increase. Since demand now is much higher (after few reddit pots that scared crafters out) there’s no sense in buying any Scraps right now. Trust me they’ll go down in price.
Call me your Angel that will save you gold. Craft what you can, craft those time-based parts and leave the finishing touches (turning them to Damask) for later
Don’t fall for the manipulation
REMEMBER: Ascended armor isn’t a must right now. You can still do everything in GW2 without it.P.S. Merry Christmas
I think it’s already starting. The profit margin is already diminishing last I checked. Lately I’ve just been assisting guildies with damask production (I’m not making mine today, and it’d be a shame to let it go to waste).
Merry Christmas!
everyone go buy silver and gold instead for incoming xunlai ingots zomg!
The OP feels like: “See, this is a wheel and thanks to 4 of those, the car rolls.”
LOL
Since we’re on about market education, it’s time for me to teach you why this thread is redundant.
There are several groups of people.
1. The opportunists selling their stacks and waiting for the price to drop. They like the price being high and will sell off all they can find while the iron’s hot.
2. The people, such as myself, sitting on thousands going “I have money but there is nothing I want to buy.” So when something like this comes along, we have a reason to buy. We have the resources to buy. We don’t care that the price is inflated. We just want to enjoy our new toys and feel better with our (kitten near negligible) improvement.
3. The people that absolutely will not buy at the price it’s at, seeing the price going higher and complaining about it. So they go out and play the game, salvaging what they can to gather their own resources.
4. The people preying on hype and scaremongering. The flippers. They are artificially raising the price as they compete with each other and the demand is high enough from group 2 that nobody cares enough about it.
So which group are you blaming for this economic crisis and how do you plan to get through to them that what they’re doing is wrong? You’re finger pointing but providing NO solutions to fix anything.
Oh please, everyone buy up Damask by the truckload. I’ve been getting 10-15g per day guaranteed that way.
Then I’ll just buy it up for 1-2g once the bottom falls out and supply has caught up to the demand to craft my Ascended armor.
Even 200 bank slots can only hold 50,000 silk. It takes a lot more than one guy to break down the 7c wall.
Blame the patch note manipulators who read “ascended” log in and buy 30 stacks of silk to make a quick buck.
Side note – people good enough to manipulate the market and have the assets to do so are rich enough to not care at all about the price of crafting materials. When I was heavy into the TP I made enough money that I didn’t have a use for it. I’d spend 80g and stick 2 mighty infusions (5 pow +5ar) and not even notice the financial hit. I’d make 80g in a day when I’m playing with 1000g on the TP.

You got me wrong I ain’t blaming anyone. This is mainly a response to future QQers that will start whining about the inflation in the next days/week, blaming on everyone else but themselves.
First sentence, not blaming anyone.
Second sentence, placing the blame on someone.
You didn’t think this one through, did you?

Please read the post tyvm. And then read your response. See if it makes any sense
Perfect sense. Where did I lose you?
cheers for the heads-up.
i just made 26g from the trendy mats i didnt want.
I live in Taiwan. I blame the government for high housing price.
Since if they just raise the tax like they did for Korea, the price won’t rise like that.
There are many mmorpg out there. And I can say plently of them have much better economy compare to this game.
Worse of all, Anet probably want the economy to be this way. So people’ll get the urge to buy gold.

Give this poster a prize. Only one I’ve seen come close to the mark.
Yay for the price of Linen reaching 12S (that’s a 100% increase in price). Best time to sell if you got any, worst time to buy
I know this shouldn’t even need to be said:
Linen prices sky rocketed because they do not drop from level 80s. They rarely drop from queensdale champs. They don’t drop at all from Frostgorge champs.
A level 80 attacking an appropriately leveled enemy is still more likely to get level 80 loot than linen salvageable loot.
Linen is not a gatherable resource from nodes.
Supply and demand once again. Market manipulators have nothing to do with it.
