Not a fan of the new animation, can we have it reverted please?

I agree, I liked the old animation better! Were there too many complaints about it being too bright or something? I liked it, but if that is the case, making it some ugly black stuff is not the solution I want at all.

Well that change is rather unfortunate. I wonder why they would do such a thing. I would certainly appreciate it if it was reverted to its original animation.

Obviously Anet can not be trusted with any product offering that is cosmetic only, since they’ve no proven they will change it however they see fit, even if it was marketed completely different

No more cash from me at this point. I might buy bank slots, but Anet can forget me ever buying another cosmetic item.

I think its the black oily smoke Teq theme (looks like the new event ascended weapon smoke). You know, to promote the new teq update. They will probably revert it later.

I think this is a bug; I think the effect is getting messed up by the upcoming infinite mining pick called “Bone Pick.” It was data mined and posted about on reddit.

I really hope so. Like many said already: I didn’t pay for this kittenty animation. Give me the original animation or give me back my gems >:-(

As far as I know, there were no problems with, and no objections to the lava font animation. This seems to be a completely arbitrary change.

This sets a really bad precedent. Who’s to say your cute, pink, plushy quaggan backpack won’t become a dark brown, boney, risen thrall backpack tomorrow?

Agreed. Now I that do, I find I still really don’t care.

No problem with them changing animations, but on a gem store purchase? That is low. Fortunately, I didn’t purchase my pickaxes for the animation, so it doesn’t hit me personally.

You can’t expect them to offer a refund to those who bought it based on the old animation, but that is the moral thing to do. Greedy money-grabbing.

I will certainly think twice about purchasing anything cosmetic from the gem store from now on, and I know a large group will boycott the gem store altogether.

AN and NCSoft missed a real money spinner here. They could have just released a new unlimited pickaxe with this animation. So many people who already had the Molten one would have purchased it anyway.

I watched the posted vid. Frankly, I didn’t buy the Molten pick because I didn’t care for the animation. I really like this one better. I would buy it if it had this new one. Different strokes for different folks. But, it may just be a glitch or something. Pity.
