I’m not sure if this was the right section to post this in, but let’s consider this situation:

I have 2 Incinerators.

But now that the Incinerator is going to be converted to a skin, did I waste time going for 2 Incinerators because I previously wanted to dual wield them?

Do we get compensated?

Even if you had 2 weapons such at Firebringer, do these players get compensated?

Regarding legendaries you will still have the advantage of higher stats and being able to change the stat combo.

Your compensation is to be owner of 2 forever BiS weapon with stat change on demand, and now it will be also account bound.

But you made the decision ahead of time to waste your money on a duplicate legendary for the looks rather than it’s actual utility. In the end you do still have a perma-BiS with swappable stats, which is worth it IMO.

I can understand that you feel like you messed up a good 1800g on your 2nd incinerator when the patch launches but the fact remains that you arent losing anything so you cant really ask for a compensation for something you didnt lose.

In this patch there are only things to win, and some people win more than others.

Not really getting ascended from lvl 0 weaponsmith is cheaper unless you have like 4 different weapon stats you use and a lot of people don’t need that many (dungeon sellers are the only ones I can think of).

I have two Inf Lights and two Whisperblades; I’m VERY happy with the change. Everyone else is crying too much; all I see are a bunch of mascots for Kleenex.

I can feel sympathetic for the Legendary owners because they took thousands of T6 mats and map completion etc, but exotics are nothing.

I wonder if we will be compensated for buying 2 Marjory Daggers… Waiting for guild before filing a ticket.

Everybody got the news at the same time. You don’t deserve special treatment just because you have 2 legendaries

I have a crap load of skins I have several copies of on my 10 characters. Shouldn’t I get compensation for them even though they are not legendary or even lvl 80 exotics? What’s the criteria here? The cost? The level? What’s the compensation exactly? Money? How much money?

Legendary isn’t just a skin.
As has been pointed out, a Legendary is top-tier gear, forever. It will always be upgraded when new tiers are added. It also has stat change. They are also not taking anything away from you – you have 2 Legendary pre-patch and you will have 2 Legendary post-patch.
I spent a lot of gold on multiple copies of BL ticket weapon skins for alts and dual wielding. I don’t expect to be compensated for all those. It’s too much of a slippery slope when you start compensating for this and in almost every case, it would be undeserved compensation as noone is having anything taken away from them.

When the patch hits, contact the support. Maybe they will let you unbind one of the legendaries (so you’d be able to sell it). Of course, maybe they won’t.
Don’’t expect any other form of “compensation”.

If they have to compensate every player that has duplicates, it’ll take them years to do so, the game changes, deal with it…

I truly hope they do something about it (for players that have legendaries), but we all know that it is never gonna happen.

You will have the exact same weapons you had before the patch. You got exactly what you paid for at the time so I don’t see any problem in this.
