Suck those of us who did the dailies before the patch lose out on the event goodies.
Removed the Celestial Amulet. The games worth playing again.
Still seeing those PvP league icons everywhere in PvE, even though the tourney is over.

Oh and I did turn it off in options, that don’t make hover stop showing them.
How do you turn off the logging of receiving harvested items? it’s completely flooding my chat window making it useless.

They arent going away until the new seasons, and even then people will get them back as they re-earn them

Took me a while to find it, but it’s in the down arrow at the top of the chat box. It’s under Game Messages.
Great set of patch notes I reckon.
They’ve been working hard.
They disabled stacking on a stick in the swampland fractals, that’s all they did XD the rest is still a big mess, how amazing :’)
Mesmer is gone.

Honestly? I’m happy with changes, especially Warrior and dual axe damage increase! In general it’s really well done balance patch. It doesn’t change anything drastically, at least not for me. My builds are basically untouched. Does this mean I’m in meta? :o

BTW is there a way to remove the esports and monkey new year spam from my screen, the ui is cluttered enough already :/

I thought they were so proud of HoT, so why don’t they fix the stuff that is wrong there? (map closings, megaserver problems, losing map contribution when disconnecting, not being able to get back when disconnecting) I’d think these would be issues of high priority, but apparently they are not. I’m very surprised to say the least..
My only problem is that I’m at work and I’ll miss the first new Shatterer spawn.
Please fix DH F2 and Smite Condition. Someone reported they’re both bugged

Some nice things for warrior, but nowhere near enough to get them back into the game at this point, I feel.

A lot of this stems from the lack of separate balancing. And having a wonderful balance team(sarcasm)
I will admit that I’m pleased to see feedback is finally ground targetable but that just doesn’t offset the lack of anything else we received. Maybe it’s just me but it seems like devs are out of touch with the profession subforums.
Well, you can make the rifle a one handed weapon in PvE now. The last two skills are basically worthless. I know you like to think only with your PvP mind but in PvE you often look for a good place before you start attacking with a rifle. No point now.
You cant stay in a tree, on a dock, a rock, or pathway or anyplace with helpful structure and do significant damage. Rifle butt? May as well leave that spot empty.
The weapon buffing was required but you crippled it with totally unneeded movement in PvE.

My thoughts: No visual effects slider yet, so still can’t stand to play my elementalist.
Gliding: Yay!
Shatterer: Yay!
Massive nerfs everywhere: More of the same we’ve come to expect in the name of pvp balancing. Gonna be horrible in every other aspect of the game. At least the effects of our powers are starting to match the horrible looking new visuals.
Final Thoughts: Best way to balance the game for pvp is just make the gate not open at the beginning of the match. Perfect balance for everyone!
So far i just didn’t like that I had loot show up in my chat. I just had to change it so that it wouldn’t show up by: going tab options> game messages> and unchecking inventory

I hear the words “balance patch” and my immediate reaction is “well…back to the drawing board”
The GW1 conditioning holds true…
Bit disappointing to see Anet choose the easiest path regarding the boon spam. Instead of shaving each profession to make them balanced with self and shared boons, they decided to turn necros and reapers into boon corrupt machines.
I truly see no reason (with a competitive perspective) whatsoever to keep playing a power based necro/reaper now when they pushed so hard towards conditions via boon corruption.
Thief / Mesmer / Elementalist / Warrior / Necromancer / Ranger / Engineer / Revenant

Honestly, this is a great balance patch. I wish they’d give Ele Scepter the buffs it actually needs (to its autoattacks) and also that they’d tune down boon spam a bit across the board rather than just nerfing boon rip, but in general I like all the changes they did make.

There is A LOT of work that needs to be done in terms of balance (interprofessional AND intraprofessional aspects), but instead, the balance patch was limited to a narrow scope and only addressed certain parts as opposed to everything in whole.

These LAZY BALANCE PATCHES are destroying guild wars 2’s entrance into the “E-Sports” scene, with ridiculously volatile balance ideas and lazy fixes, such as modifications to cooldown percentage and number fixes, when there are CLEAR USABILITY FLAWS IN MECHANICS

Chrono made Mesmer fun to play again. This patch has just messed it all up again.
Not sure why I bothered spending a lot of cash on my build/armour/weapons.
Beginning to think anet just want zerkers – again
The number of dollies to upgrade structures…seems excessive now. Need to find a happy medium. 40 dollies to get a tower to t2 is crazy. that would be 1400 supply without double supply in the original system. yikes.

Buffed necro to god-like levels; removed ele from the game. Going to be fun seeing a 5 necro meta.
Thanks for the mesmer and ele nerfs. Gives me a reason to finally uninstall this game.
Why did they hammer Mesmer in PvE, the PvP maybe needed it, Ele totally needed toned down in PvP, but im getting kind of miffed at them balancing PvE around PvP,
I would have figured they would have gotten away from balancing the game around 1 format, the Mesmer in PvE is not really worth taking now, seriously stop pushing people out of your game, separate PvE and PvP skills, so that we don’t get nerfed/buffed because of 1 game format.
It’s refreshing to see the base professions get a buff for the most part. Pushing e-sports and hiding elite specs behind the HoT paywall seemed counter-intuitive. I always thought the core idea behind e-sports was that you tried to get as many people as possible playing it by making the cash barrier to entry as low as possible so that word of mouth could spread about your game like wildfire and gamers could decide if your game was e-sports and then, VOILA! If they liked it, it was e-sports!
I’ll check out the shatterer fight for sure and I may check out some PvP. I have some Ranger ideas with what they’ve done.
Skill splits still need to be a thing though. The PvE Mesmer got jacked because of how they were in PvP. 3+ years later and ArenaNet continues to be stubborn about so many things that should just happen.
Until WvW is freed from it’s craptastic PvE requirements, none of this matters.
I can see that ANet is nerfing game too often…
I love not needing to hold down CTRL to see things, made the firecracker search easier. The new squad markers are very nice though the default binds mean pressing way too many keys at once (alt + shift + nine = hand pain) so I moved as much as possible to the numpad.
I noticed a line about professions getting profession-specific ground targeting circles. However my Daredevil still has the green bullseye. He did get an interesting smudge on a targeted firework, with too many people around for me to see what it was.
I hit up the first Shatterer fight post patch. Saw at least 4 GMs there! It was a very chaotic fight but we beat him. However, though I only died once (got knocked out of the air and the ground was super hard), and was pegging him almost non stop with bombs and short bow, I did not get the exotic chest that others linked receiving. Nor did many others in chat. So the reward did not feel Teq-level.
Gliding is awesome so far! I haven’t had time to really try it in various places. Tuesdays are short gaming days for me.
They still didn’t address ele survivability with non-bunker builds and amulets without vitality and toughness, the useless ele elites, the useless ele glymph, the useless ele conjures, the useless ele signets, the useless ele scepter and the useless ele warhorn…
I won’t come back unless they really start working on real skill balancing instead of just shaking the meta around and pretending it’s helping the game in the long term.
Build variety in this game is dead ever since the new trait system came out. It was way more fun with 5 trait lines and stats points associated with those lines. I don’t understand why losing that freedom was supposed to help the game.
Anyway WvW is dead until they merge servers so there is just nothing to do.

According to Anets other forums a Dev replied saying, that should not have made it into the patch notes, it is a future update they are working on.
Its crazy that they will reply to reddit and ignore here.
If you really want your feedback to be heard you need to go to reddit, you are 90% more likely to get a reply, im not saying they don’t read these forums, but they definitely do read reddit, and do tend to reply a lot there also.

Oh do you really want to know my opinion? Fine…
- Mesmer scepter buffs are a joke. And it isn´t even funny.
- Well of precognition is now like posting on the "visual nerfs " thread. Useless.
- Alacrity maybe was too trong still the change is outrageous.
- Chaos armor change destroys sinergies. Yay.
- Nerfing everithing we have to offer to pve without giving us any meaningful improvement on exchange? Of course, why not! Its not like, you know, we wanted to be accepted on the oh so called group content you advertised.
- Guardians still out of the game PVE wise.
- Horrendous visual changes aren´t noticed even with a hugue post with more than 17 pages of comments talking about this issue.
- Different gamemode balancing keeps interefering with other gamemodes for no reason.
- A videos showing how cool is gliding on tyria. Let´s hope it doesen´t happen the same with chrono: cool video and hype and some moths later gets butchered.

The event is just buy something for 16g everyday and some ap´s.
Banners are not as op anymore…

If skill balancing is taken into consideration, scepter Ele is now unstoppable.

I’m very happy with this patch.
I like amount of changes but I’d sacrifice a ton of changes for having balance tweaks every week until each class has a few viable builds in each gamemode, and bugfixes every week. Postpone the leagues, the WvW seasons, and the expansion. There should at least be a team for class balance and an entirely separate team for bug fixing that strive to release changes/fixes each week. Obviously don’t do all the classes at once but at least focus on one class each week and act on feedback
