Job well done on the Silverwastes zone.
+1 on this post.
It certainly a decent idea bringing elements of other game modes into the new map whilst at the same time encouraging some co-op when it reaches the Breach stage… heck it was also fun for a short whiles when players became attackable at the bandit camp…. But I guess the whines and moans that immediately began to surface were a little to much aggro for ANET to take on board so it was declared a bug.
For me there is one small fear for this map.. its great they have added the ability to farm chests amongst everyone and actually encourages players to dig for everyone, but what happens when players have got all their Silverwastes achievements and collection bits done.. will the events hold the same level of interest to complete like a TEQ or Wurm does… nah I think our eagerness to dig up chests will take over and already is, myself included. It may also have a profound effect on the populous around other maps/zones as well.
I am loving it – this is what Orr should have felt like, ie a battle zone.
How it will pan out long term as populations move on, or if we defeat Mordy is a long term concern, but for now I am thoroughly enjoying Silverwastes

As long as the zone continues to be rewarding, then players will always play in it. Just like Orr, the content is old but people farm there all the time. It’s nice to have zones that offer different game play while it is as rewarding as other zones. That way players cycle through different zones if they get bored of one place.

This is how I keep my farming fresh. I just do different rewarding zones like Frostgorge, Orr, Dry Top, South Sun and now Silverwastes.
Soo much goodness in the new map! Thank you ANet on a job well done!
It could be that more Luminescent armor upgrades will require more activity in the zone, though it’ll be nice if it feels as fresh for each piece as it does for the shoulders. That could extend the longevity quite a bit.
I don’t think Dry Top is drying up either, I went in to spend a fossilized insect and found myself helping a push to T4 with a couple of well organized commanders.
I’ve enjoyed the new zone. I didn’t like Drytop at all, it’s nice to get new zones like this. Unfortunately I don’t follow the story because it sounds like they did a nice job with the story elements here. Even without the story, I find the zone to be fun.
Couldn’t resist adding this. Let’s have Johnny describe what should happen next for this type of reward system in the game.
