Joining "Full" Servers
Tarnished Coast [Crit]
If you have no characters on the account, I believe you can change servers for free.

You could transfer to a less populated server instead of wishing that the FULL status on your server be temporarily pushed aside so your friends can get in.

Unfortunately that isn’t an option, since a bunch of my other friends that already play the game are on TC.
I didn’t know about the no character = free transfer thing though!

Realize some players are trying 24/7 to get into T1. So it’s going to be a challenge unless the Dev’s bump the server cap to let accounts shift around again. Just keep checking during off hours. You can run a single character around to use the account. Don’t put anything that’s not expendable on the character. You’ll likely delete the character in a panicked state when you see the server finally available.

I really hope they don’t do that. Its silly allowing the T1 servers to keep growing because so many people keep complaining. The other servers could use those players.
It’s very hard to get into T1 servers like TC or BG. You have to camp basically and wait for one person to move their account to another server so you can get that one spot. also note that if you do this, the charater select screen does not update when someone moves their account so it won’t change from full to very high unless you keep going in and out of the charater select screen while you camp out. Good luck
- Unless you WvW, it does not matter which home world you choose; you can play with your friends in sPvP and PvE simply by being in the same party as they are.
- The ability to move to a nominally “full” server depends on a number of factors, including how many from that server are playing right now, how many accounts are registered there, and how many have entered/left recently. There is no way to predict when there will be an opening, so the three most efficient strategies are:
- Try in the slowest parts of the day, usually US early am (everyone is asleep and EU players are at work). This has worked for a number of friends, but can take a week or two.
- Try early and often, i.e. bring a laptop to work and try every time you can get to Starbucks or other wifi hotspot. This has been successful for everyone I know who has tried it. (Requires more patience than some of us have.)
- Unless the aid of a large guild, who can arrange for 50+ members to sign off for 5 minutes at exactly the same time, e.g. 12:05 am Pacific. That should temporarily open up a spot or two for just long enough for someone new to join. This has also worked in every case I know about, but obviously, not everyone can manage it.

I want to WvW with my guildie friends, most of whom are on JQ. So it does matter to those of us in this situation.
