Is it intended by the developers to have EU players join NA servers and vice versa? I read some bug reports about that (and I wasn’t able to do it neither), but is there any statement, that Anet wants that to be working?

There are no IP restrictions on what server you join.

Aw, I maybe did not made my point clear. Its the guesting I’m talking about. So wheather or not its intended to guest on an NA server as EU player or not.

And while on the topic, how is actually playing on the other server?
BTW there are only two “servers”, the NA & EU one. The rest are purely virtual.

Is the increased ping noticeable to the point of being a clear disadvantage?

I’d like to know the status of this guesting as well, our guild is currently split between Yak’s Bend (US) and Desolation (EU) and whilst our US members have been able to run dungeon content with people from other US servers we have never been able to get US/EU cross server dungeon groups to work.

Is it supposed to work and currently doesn’t or is it never going to happen?

I too would love to know if this is going to be implemented. Like a lot of players I have friends on EU and NA servers and it sucks to not be able to party up for dungeons. It was part of what made GW1 awesome, those of us who were night owls always had people to join up with for dungeons etc. and this is key to my continued GW2 experience.
