I have open Jormag world event chest every day after feature update and I don’t have drop Jormag Claw Fragment. It’s possible to drop it? I have spent gold and time to craft all corrupted weapon and now I can’t complete the collection because is impossoble to unlock the collection. I need to repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat this world event for infinity times? This a stupid system to unlock the collection.

It does exist.

And yes, this was a rather questionable decision to make the unlocks for certain collections very . . . very . . . limited in availability.

You can buy it on the trading post. I got mine for ~30g via buy order.

From the dulfy.net site…

  • Reward: 10 AP, 5 Obsidian Shards, 10 Icy Rune Stones, Essence of Luck (500), 1 Exotic Item, 2 Rare Items.

Yup, it definitely exists, and the rewards are somewhat more tangible than some of the other, far more costly Collections (even AP alone).

However, the method of getting one of these is questionable. The Claw of Jormag chest isn’t known for having the best drops, even for being one of the more difficult meta dragons.

I put forward a proposal a while ago to make the Claw Fragment drop from any of the icebrood that come from the Claw of Jormag event (eg. all the adds that spawn, such as the icebrood elemental, icebrood kodan, icebrood quaggan and such). Instead of the rather limited way to obtain this fragment, open things up a bit more and allow for more people to get in on the Collection.

I see another example of Anet shooting themselves in the foot. I can’t be the only one to see how this could have been done better.

Yes great idea to make it drops from the monsters around it. NOT!
Even more people who farm the monsters instead of finishing the event.

So you want it to be a highly exclusive item as it is right now?

Any better ideas on how to get it without tearing one’s hair out trying?

Let’s be a little more constructive instead of shooting theoretical holes in ideas.

Well it could theoretically just be made so if you do x% damage to Jormag you get a small chance of getting it as loot automatically.

Or maybe add a small achievement track that doesn’t give AP wherein once you’ve beaten Jormag x times you get it as a reward.

I already said buy it from the trading post. It costs hardly more than crafting an average weapon of the set.

The trouble with this sort of advice is there is, at any one time, only about 14 to 17 available to buy. Right now buy orders are only slightly higher than supply. If enough people were to take this advice and demand increases, the price is going to also increase. If sufficient people were trying to buy it the price will increase greatly. Saying it’s only a certain price now is depending on demand staying the same.

Which is why saying increase the supply is a better idea than increased demand on the trading post and no increased supply.
