Jormag Nerf
Not much of a challenge if you could have perma shield. All you need is stability/stun breaks for the fears as everything else can be avoided. Of course most players still camp in the AFK spots making the fight drag on longer than it needs to.
The challenge being you actually had to interact with the game world rather than afk-ing those spots. As I said, the unrelenting constant ‘fear’ (also read as lazy mechanic) happens far too often that you can’t block everything and it still had a recharge, albeit a fairly shorter one; the actual 30 second charge is so useless you may as well not even pick it up. The fact that there is afk spots should be a warning flag that there is something wrong with the fight, I wouldn’t say it had anything to do with the recharge on the gun.

Meanwhile, I’m standing in the middle casually dodging all the stuff and cleansing/breaking the fear when appropriate while also doing far more damage than anyone with a gun. Sadly, I’m usually the only one, standing alone with a frostbow by my side.
Interrupting the shield skill was a bug and people exploited that. Why they finally fixed it now after several years, who knows. I’d guess it was unintentionally fixed due to fixing something else.
The fear wasn’t always spammed. That’s likely a bug, especially considering it’ll throw two sets of crystals, though only one appears. Originally, the fear only happened once in a while to refresh the crystals. I’d guess they intentionally broke it back then to try to fear people into the crystals.
As for the AFK spots, they should have just increased the size of the attacks to include the edges. Back when they updated the encounter, they did remove the phase 2 AFK spot. I doubt it’ll ever get changed though, since being a dragon minion, they’ll probably revamp the entire encounter like Tequatl whenever they get around to the Shiverpeaks arc.

This seems like the most logical reason, I hate to call ninja nerf but that was what it felt like when I saw it, a shocking fix.

Proving my point that Jormag fight needs so many fixes other than this gun, whether intentional or not.
Yes jormag does need some work, but this skill was not working as intended and still had to be changed regardless of other fixes.Skills arent meant to be doing this and so it was inevitable it would be changed. There was no reason to use stability and fear breakers due to this behaviour.
Mechanic reworks for boss are something else and need more resources for, so that will take longer if at all
Really? They fixed that? I actually found that bug pretty good to be there – there is to much CC in the first phase of this fight and not everyone has access to something that prevent from fear. I liked to play running with rocket launcher – it gave me some thing to do and not only stand like bot.

Every class actually does with some doing it better than others such as guardians.
I guess this means that they actually want us to stand in a pile at the corner where we can’t get hit and just press 1.
I mean, that’s the obvious implication that one can infer from seeing that they reduced functionality on the event weapon so that it can no longer be effectively used while leaving the no-risk stacking spot intact.
I mean, I don’t bother with Jormag very often any more since everyone stands around in Phase 2 shooting his head (doing no damage) or farming champs at the back leaving me and 2 others to actually do the entire event (breaking icicles) causing it to take 10 extra minutes so that I miss the next boss on the timer.
