Journey to 100% Map
“My most recent character I did an experiment leveling just through map completion
And
I used a level 20 scroll and then went to zone completion”.
Then you didn’t do what you set out to do since you gained 20 levels with the scroll first.
I have 100% on 14 characters. I timed it once, and it take 53 hours on my necro to finish all the pve maps and personal story. I didn’t time the wvw map completion since that rely on which tower your server hold.

+1000, also if you take the level from the first quest, that’d also be dishonest to your words.

It took me 35 hours to level from 27->80 with map completion and personal story. I use food and consumable which boost my kill exp to 20%.
actually 34 hours and 7 minutes from 27→80 after checking screen shot.
20 levels may only be 10,900 XP, but that’s like getting a whole zone or more for free at the start. Most people get 20 levels or so buy doing a starter zone and maybe a partial of the next zone.
And where is the cut off? Can someone also post, “I leveled by map completion only. Except I used a 20 level scroll and then crafted for 20 more levels. But the rest I did with area completion and here are my numbers.” That’s just as valid as what you did.

probably, but it take 2 gold to gain 7 or 10 level through cooking. So most people probably have some level to start with. It used to be 10 level, I think they changed to 7. They might have revert it to 10 again I think. (need some confirmation).
The early level is the most painful since you wont’ have speed boost. If you play a class with speed signet, it’s a good idea to get to over lvl5 asap, since I think you can only use utility at lvl5, and power through skill scroll.

That is why the post is titled Journey to 100% Map. I wasn’t really interested in the leveling part. It was more about getting useful data to tell me what percentage of the world was in each area. That whole zone for free at the start doesn’t really matter and your slippery slope argument is pointless, and I showed that I hit level 80 in fireheart no matter if I used the scroll or not.

The money involved is not the point. The point is, if someone says they did leveling only by map completion but they used a scroll to gain 20 levels to start with then they didn’t do what they set to do.
I’m confused. What information does this post impart? I’m not being snarky, I just don’t understand what you are telling us. How many hours to Level 80? How much of the map you need to do to get 100%? (That’s kind of obvious.) What percent you will be at at certain maps? (That would depend on the order maps are completed, I would assume.)

I wanted to see what % of the world completion content was in each level range. 30% of the content from level 1 to 25 zones. Another 30% between 25 and 60. 23% of the world is 60 to 80. 11% is the cities, and the rest in wvw, about 6-7%.
It’s interesting to me to know that 30% of the world completion content is sub level 25.
11% the cities and 6-7% wvw.
So, if I do the cities first, I will be at 11%?
So, if I do the cities first, I will be at 11%?
Also, since the XP needed to level is non linear, it matters what level you start with. So is it 11% if you don’t have a level 20 scroll to use first? Not everyone does.
Given the intent of seeing how much you get per zone, I’ll ask what your xp bonus is from achievement chests. I think one reason leveling feels so fast to me now is I have all the permaboosts from getting to 11.5K AP, and I’ve not been shy about using my birthday boosters on top of that.
So, if I do the cities first, I will be at 11%?

Yea, the cities will always be 11% world completion no matter what level you are. Your statement is nonsensical.

Which statement? That XP to level is nonlinear so that the amount to get to the next level changes? That not everyone will have a scroll? The other was a question and and not a statement so you can’t mean that.

The 11% mentioned there is a world completion %. It has absolutely nothing to do with xp or your level.
Remember, remember, 15th of November

As I said, that’s not a statement. It’s a question I was asking the answer for from the OP. Since it was a question, it was not nonsensical but a request for information and clarification.
Thank you for your post but I was able to figure out before it that he was calling my question nonsensical.
