What’s up with so many jump puzzles in this game? I am not totally opposed to jump puzzles but, I have acrophbia in real life and some of these puzzles do make me somewhat uneasy.

So, I am wondering why ANET is not choosing to keep this fun element (for many players) as an optional quick-path in dungeons (for example, jump puzzle of Theobomos Lab in AION, another NCsoft game)instead of forcing it as a mandatory element in the dungeons?

“If there is anyone here whom I have not offended, I am sorry.”

Presumably because they thought it would be cool, and/or they added jumping in response to requests and figured that if they were going to have jumping, they might as well make use of it.

It’s unfortunate if it’s not something you enjoy, but that is a risk in any game design decision – some people won’t be fans of what they choose to do. Also, just a pet peeve, but you shouldn’t conflate NCSoft with ArenaNet – NCSoft don’t make that kind of decision for games, I’m pretty sure

How about you don’t do them? Problem solved.

Some people like them: those people do them.

Some people don’t like them: they arn’t supposed to do them.

It seems that the second group seemed to of forgotten what their role is and instead think it’s okay to try and remove content just because they personally don’t like it.

They’re ingeniously constructed platforming structures …

… stuck within the confines of an engine wholly unsuited for the purpose.
