We were told anywhere you can get Ascended mats you had a chance at getting an ascended weapon drop.

Can anyone verify if the grand chests at the end of jumping puzzles that gives like 3 Empyreal Fragments can if fact drop a Ascended weapon?

I’m pretty sure they can (all other sources – the event chests and the champion boxes – definitely can). The rate would be much lower than the chance to get an exotic drop from those chests, though – and i have never got an exotic from a jumping puzzle.

I got an exotic once or twice from JP’s (one last week, 78 dagger), and I don’t do them a lot… My guess is that the rate for anything better is probably the same or lower than getting a precursor from a world boss.

Just found this old post as I was curious and any 1 found any Ascended gear or weapons from JP chests?

I got Nika’s Gloves (exotic) from the chest in Ashford, in the cave near Lake Feritas. It also awards Empyreal’s to level 80’s. So I may get an ascended there someday?

I can confirm getting some named exotics from JPs (I got one from Obsidian Sanctum when I finished it ((Stardust))) as well as ascended mats (Empyreal fragments from tougher ones, Bloodstone Dust from easier ones). It’s likely you might get an ascended weapon/armor drop from them some day, but we won’t know until it actually hapens.

Is there any real point to them other than achievements? I don’t find them particularly enjoyable, especially if I’m on my Norn, and I’ve yet to get anything better than a few blues. Just doesn’t seem worth the frustration if you don’t get entertainment out of the puzzles themselves.

Not really. Though you can have a daily chest pretty easily if you have alts you dont really use. I know people who park alts at the end of jp’s and just leave there to login once a day to loot the chest. Also, people do this with a mesmer alt on certain jp’s (that allow a port) to provide a once a day port for friends and guild mates to the end of a jp.

The main point to them I have found and only now is to get emp fragments I can get about 150 200 in an hour on each toon that up to 80

I recieved a chest that let me pick one of an assortment of ascended weapons with shaman stats… I picked Zintl Razor, so yeah it’s possible.

I used to run level 80 chars to the low level chests in Queensdale, Wayfarers, and Ascalon on a regular basis to get empy frags (this was long before the Silverwastes). I did get the occasional exotic from those chests in the starter zones, and they weren’t even at the end of a jumping puzzle.
