Just bought the game.
Welcome.
My advice is to get your toes into the game before you read too much here in the forums. It is a fun game.

Avoid Queensdale (starting human zone) like the plague. You will be caught up in the champion train and it will ruin your experience of this wonderful game.
So make a non human, play the game, follow the personal story line and have fun. Ask for help in /map as most folks are helpful
Move while attacking, learn to use and love dodging, don’t stand in the red circles.
Level up all your weapon skills your profession can use as soon as possible, it’ll let you see what’s available for your profession. You can use two different weapon “loadouts” and swap in combat.
