Guild Wars 2

Hi guys. I cant mention the mmorpg game name here. But the game start with A. I paid for Alpha and examine the game.

Here my conclusion.

1. A is a HEAVY PVE game. (Its very boring to do quest after quest, its more like completing 100% map in GW2)

If you not exceed lv 50, dont dream to kill other veteran players!

While Guild War 2 was a balanced game between pvp and pve. Bored at pve? Que for spvp! where newbies can pawn veteran players.

2. A company bought the game from Korean developer. They cant change the game system into pvp friendly anytime soon.

Meanwhile, Guild War 2 has the dev team itself, any upgrade can be implemented ASAP.

3. What GW2 lack compared to A?

a) Housing system

b) Farming system ( this is the main point of me buying alpha pack of A! Plus my guild war 2 game was crash at update since June 2014 patch and need re install, so why not try other game)

c) mount would be good in pve. Disable it in wvw

d) Guild vs guild matchmaking system. 20vs20. (this just my idea to make gw2 the ultimate alpha male of mmorpg)

e) A character creation is better, the face looks very realistic and wide option to choose from

GW2. And, more faces and body type for human!! Please I like this 1 Norn female face (The 1 that without eyebrow)!! Make it into human face too!! and Norn female body is way better than human female body.

f) Naval sea ship battle. Because why you no?

g) Auto walk in A is very nice!! gw2 please make auto walk!!!

1 thing I very like about gw2 was the world graphic, nothing can beat gw2 beautiful sky, deep ocean and nature. Even A is beautiful game, still gw2 world graphic is the best.

Since I’m not familiar with Korean MMOs, especially if it’s only in alpha, and the letter A is very vague, I think I’m going to turn down the MMO in the mystery box…

Yeah, definitely Archage. I’ve been checking it out. The game looks really cool. Everything about it seems interesting, except the combat. The combat ruins it for me.

Ah. I think I browsed through the info for that a while ago. It has a bunch of bells and whistles, some good and some “interesting”, but whether those will come together with the core game to make a great game time will only tell.

Yeah the combat kinda suck, I need to hold 3 to use skills. But at least the skills not weapon lock like gw2. I can use sword on my thief without worry having kitten sword skills that doesn’t make sense compared to dagger skills

Please elaborate (since I’m lazy to look it up). I’m guessing you’re not referring to farming in the more conventional since in regards to MMO?

Actually ANet is hiding most of them in the gem-store, specifically in their makeover kits and there exclusive faces/hairstyles.

I know which one you’re talking about. Built on the same engine as GW2 or at least similar but lacks a lot of balance when it comes to class differences. There’s also the fact that Korean grinder MMOs are generally horrible and PVP is heavily based on gears instead of overall build and skill. There’s a lot of appealing features like vehicle mounts, gliders, naval ships, the “justice system”, and the trade system but give it about 2 weeks and these things easily lose their spark because there really isn’t much depth to any of them.

Arch age uses cry engine 3 which is a modern fps engine that supports directx11. This is common in Korean mmos. Aion used cry engine 1, Tera blade and soul use unreal 3 Gw2 uses a custom engine based offed the one in gw1 that is pretty old and only supports directx9 atm

I’ve learnt in the past to never get my hopes up with a Korean game. No matter how great it looks on the surface, or how innovative it seems (RIP Vindictus), it always whirlpools down to a grindy pile of poo poo at its center.

It was released years ago in Korea. Only Alpha testing in NA market since Trion got the rights to distribute it.

Personally the whole open PvP crap will already not let me really play that game, so i will maybe download it to play with the character editor, and thats it more or less

Lulz best $150 you ever spent….. Then you realize you could of gotten into the Russian version for free. You want something to be changed in gw2 ? Put it a cdi thread where it can be condensely ignored.

Graphics don’t make a game outside the same old sport games.

b) I hope you don’t talk about removing limiters from “1-spot farming”, since that’s never gonna happen and is idea that kittendrowners only suggest.
Since GW2 is designed that you go on adventure around Tyria, not stay in 1 map on 1 spot and repeat killing same mobs over and over and over again.
But if you meant like Gardening or Farm where you grow crops and farm animals for another source of materials and gold, that the player has to tend to at set intervals. Ok, though I dunno if such thing would be ever added to GW2…

c) Mounts, unfortunately the distances in GW2 are too short for mounts, and Waypoints already cover enough ground, also that ANet will never add mounts, as they have stated and will stay behind that.

d) Hopefully in the future, perhaps when we get access to cantha again.

e) Not much to say at this, since it’s ok to me too.

f) That, and hopefully also airships too, in the future.

g) There is autowalk in GW2, the one which makes you walk/run (Depends on if you toggled between moving speed, which also exists in GW2) without need to hold down W or up arrow button.
Unless you meant “click on map and set auto walker to walk there for you”, I don’t think such will ever come to GW2…

I’m not comparing. I just hoping guild war 2 improve on some stuff, add the bright ideas from other mmos, mix, tweak and and became the ultimate mmorpg.

Nevertheless, this game is bleeding. They tried to make stuff different, but it came as now shock that the majority want’s the good’ol fashion mechanics over some clunky new ideas.
All it achieved was a zombie hoard game(zerg all day, new content = new place to zerg). It’s given this game a very, very bad reputation.

But Gw2 looks fantastic, graphically. No doubt about that. Much respect to the graphical and level designer team! You deserve better!

There is a cure to Zergs, blobs or whatever you call it.

1. For WvW:

Make more holding points objective, means, the server that play zerg/blobs will lose the ppt (points pertick). Player need to spread to small group to hold objective.
