I love these forums, they tell me so much more about the people I am travelling through Tyria with than playing the game ever will.

Sometimes I laugh at the posts, sometimes I roll my eyes, other times I just click the back button.

Personally, I am enjoying GW2, not a lot, but enough to keep me interested.

I have been a (strike down the heretic!!) a WoW player for about 6 years and that game sucked me in and spat me out. I loved it, hated it but kept coming back for more. I just HAD to play. That is exactly what it was meant to do and it worked / works (delete as appropriate)

GW2 on the other hand is a joy to play, not a ‘must play’ but something that transcends the addiction phase and morphs into the ‘because I want to’ phase.

I am neither a FanBoy or a Uber MMORPG player, I would put myself somewhere in the middle, I play to escape the real world, I play to, now and then, meet others to quest with, go into a dungeon with or just have a laugh with.

I really cannot get into the psyche of you ‘hardcore’ players and your ‘must have or I will die’ attitude to any aspect of the game. Take Jumping Puzzles for example, I can’t do them, I am soooo bad. Do I complain or ask for a nerf?….nah, I just don’t bother with them. WvW?….don’t really like it, so I dabble now and again. PvP, Not for me. So….what am I left with? Let me tell you from (and I stress this)….MY point of view:

A huge world full of discovery, a place to meet with friends when I feel like it, a place that will still be there when I feel bored with RL and need a rest, a place to kill kitten if I feel violent.

What more could I wish for? Not a lot.

GG ArenaNet. You got me, but not so bad that I can’t escape, and that to me is perfect!

Just enjoy.....

I think you’re mistaking two separate groups of people.

There are folks who complain about a piece of content just to complain, and they should be rightly ignored.

Then there are those who are complaining because they enjoy that content, but its current state frustrates them because they know it could be so much more.

People in this forum tend to assume everyone is the former and no one is the latter, and it’s sort of absurd how defensive they get, really. This game isn’t perfect, it has its flaws, and it’s okay to discuss those flaws. In fact it’s a good idea to do so, to make sure they get fixed in a way that makes more players happy with them.

Remember when our developers talked about “strengthening the core game”?
How’d that work out for us so far?
Now let’s try some ideas that will really work.
