Just had a panic attack because of a scam...
I’ve gotten like 5 of these in the last 3 months.
Reading the Note at the bottom helps.
This has been going on a lot recently. It’s the latest scam. Bots send everyone mail threatening to ban you if you don’t go to their phishing site and give them your account info. Just check for that little message at the bottom that says “this was not sent by a member of anet” and report it.
Others have already summarised pretty well.

You can report a mail by clicking the octagonal “!” button at the bottom of the mail pane.

I think the problem is that people don’t see the bottom when the top already has them scrambling to their browsers/email program. While it might be more obstructive, the warning should really sit directly below the subject rather than the bottom of the message body.

Don’t all ArenaNet emails have an icon on the side as well though?

And I believe the name’s color is different as well, I believe, but it generally doesn’t hurt the more explicit you are with warnings.
tbh i have Anxieties too, and Once u hit the Stress Cap u forget the little things such as the note telling u and Instantly panic, it seems really silly when u look and instantly see it, but its kinda harder in moment to really check for those things.

Yep, exactly. Seems silly in hindsight, but when it gives you a specific time limit and what not, you rush as fast as you can….
Maybe if I had seen a mail message from Anet before i would have realized it didn’t have the red icon, but nevertheless..
they should put the warning on the top so that people can see it before the message is read.
okay already mentioned (didn’t see that :-) )
If I don’t get at least one of these a month, I feel like the scammers don’t love me anymore.
My favorite part is how they invariably instruct you to click a link on the in-game mail that doesn’t support links.
We do open missions every Sunday night.
Contact Mistoffelees in game if you’re interested.
These Phishing mails are spammed at people every single time another ‘big game announcement’ happens. A lot of new people, who just joined us with the new Base/HoT purchases, are prime victims for cons like these. During the huge $10 sale we had a couple months ago, I was getting 3-5 of these phishing mails/day. Anet put in a system of flagging official mails for exactly this reason. Just wait till next Tuesday when the trait revamp patch hits…

Excellent idea. If the Devs actually read this suggestion, it shouldn’t take more than 5-8 months to implement too….

Many people have tunnel vision syndrome….

I’ve never gotten one. Isn’t my account good enough to steal?
Now I’m feeling vaguely discriminated against.
ANet may give it to you.
Y’know there’s a sticky about this, do 2 min of research before you post.
