I was really looking forward to getting to level 80, expecting some sort of fanfare, at the very least some special message of congratulations, a bonus chest or something. But it was like any other level up. Nothing special, not even a message in mail. What a letdown.

I have MANY criticisms of this game and Anet but seriously. Did you expect fireworks to go off in divity’s reach?

You should just be proud of hitting 80. That is an accomplishment in any game.

Well tbh, 80 isn’t that big of a deal since you keep leveling, but hint (finishing your personal story is!)

A MAJOR point of this game is that “hitting max level” is meaningless. (More or less.) There is no endgame/the entire game is endgame.

Finish your personal story, that’s where your fireworks and bonus chest are..

BTW, I don’t think I’ve seen anything special on the level cap ding on any MMO I’ve played, other than the XP bar dissapearing.

Hitting max level in any MMO means nothing. Did you expect a game over message and then see your name on a high score screen?

I have 4 level 80’s and had a blast leveling each one. The leveling experience in this game is the best of ANY mmo. Now if my ranger pet was kidnapped by Asurans who did terrible experiments to it which caused Sarah Mchlachlan to cry and I never had to use the ranger pet again that would have made leveling my ranger to 80 the best of them all but that didn’t happen.

I love that animation. It throws enemy invaders off of cliffs in WvW for free kills.

It happens more often then you’d think. I seem to ALWAYS level up during dagger storm, it is annoying to have your elite skill interrupted 50+ times.

More often than not I level after an event or while gathering. It would suck loosing dagger storm to a level.. especially if dagger storm was the only thing keeping an enemy zerg from killing me during a retreat >_>
