It’s amazingly plain. Final Rest has a kind of scythe like feel to it and it’s MUCH cheaper.

There is only one for sale now. Depending on how long it takes you to get that gold, it could be sold by that time.

Doesn’t mean nobody won’t sell it to you …. I would bet that if you put a buy order at 3000g you are pretty much guaranteed that someone will sell it to you….probably even for less. However if you start farming now, the price might get much higher in the meantime. But also Halloween is coming and who knows …maybe they will reintroduce few of them back in the game so the price would go down a bit or a lot.

Between farming and TP flipping you could probably get it in 2 or 3 months if you don’t spend your gold elsewhere.

Last year there was a raffle for the rare Halloween skins like the scythe. That’s an extremely unreliable source, of course, but this Halloween might bring another new way to get them.

There are 100s left. There are some people who stocked up 100s of each halloween weapon 2012 and sell them one by one whenever they need gold.
But its a sellers market. Price wont go down as long as none are added to the game.

I wasn’t commenting on the price. I was commenting on how the supply is dropping in such (to me) a strange, unexpected manner. If the supply stays that low, it won’t remain 10 gold. It’s already spiking upward.

I guess less people are doing Shadow Behemoth now. I stopped doing it even if its daily.

If you double check the price and supply of ectos, it seems the whole WBT has been abandoned.

Doesnt silver waste event farming give more ectos than world boss train anyway? On the other hand less and less people seem to be farming silver wastes, too. The price of time essences is going up for no good reason.

it was bugged and not dropping….once the bug was fixed, it dropped like rain.

anyway, i prefer the simpler halloween scythe…..happy i got it during the first halloween event.

It used to literally not drop. It was bugged and had a 0% drop chance. No one even knew where it was supposed to come from. Then they fixed it, and Shadow Behemoth started dropping it.

I bought mine within hours of the first one appearing for a whopping 33 gold, my entire fortune at the time. Then the price dropped to like 8g within a couple days.

Also, the word you’re looking for is “exorbitant”. Absorbent gives it an entirely different, mysterious meaning.

Jeeze. I am so glad I bought these kinds of things for wayyy cheaper (staff I bought for 1.1k gold) can’t remember the shield but yeah, still quite expensive.

well , it’s been 3 years since the official release of the scythe skin from the halloween patch . and in that time anet has not made it possible for players to get the thing like it was at that time . maybe just maybe anet might bring it back again this year , cross your fingers !

Most things will probably only get more expensive for the foreseeable future. It feels like this game is in kind of a down-time as HoT is (weeks/months/years?) away and there doesn’t appear to be any plans for anything new to do in in the meantime. Shiny gem store trinkets are just not enough to keep people interested in a game that’s going to be stagnant for a while, so there are fewer people farming things like WBT’s and Silverwastes, thus there are less people putting things on the market.

Once HoT is finally released though, I imagine people will come flooding back and start up their old farming habits along with some of the new ones they’ll pick up from the new content.

What did you expect with a limited time available skin. There isn’t a renewable supply year round and when it is available, it’s not easy to get. Only 200 were available last Halloween, out of 1000 raffle prizes.

Always thought about getting this skin for necro but the most i would pay for it is 100g-200g tops. To me it just doesnt come off as a 3000g + skin XD. I’d rather have another legendary with that money.

The Crossing is a good, and cheaper, alternative perhaps.

I love this skin, I remember I got a greatsaw skin and sold it so I could buy the scythe instead. I’ve had it on my necro ever since and wouldn’t swap it for anything. I’d reskin a bifrost with it if I had one! It’s nice that some things are still rare but not completely unobtainable, the halloween raffle -presumably each year- lets people try to win older items and at least gives the TP an influx.

Sure there aren’t many but there are definitelly dozens in people’s banks (I have some too and there are definitely people who have way more) it is just about the right price. You might have to go couple of hundred gold above the other lowest seller…you can’t be too stingy. I’ve bought 2 ghastly shields last week just because I wasn’t afraid to significantly increase the buy offer price.

So just make sure the price is right and you’ll get it ….this skin is not that rare. Some people might be afraid to put it up for sale bacause they might not hit the right price and someone might just undercut them. They don’t want to risk that the item might stay there for weeks or months if they go crazy with the price.

I would never pay this much for a Halloween skin, since, if I did, it would be released in the next Halloween patch, without fail, 100% certainty.

85g was never much. I remember I had over 200g back when the skins were first introduced in 2012. And I didnt get that gold by trading or converting gems. But silly me bought 7 Mad Moon shields instead of Ghastly Grinning shields back then because I thought the mad moon shield looked better.

Yeah, Final Rest is not the Scythe, they’re completely different skins. You can’t use one as a reference for the other.

I was using it as a reference because Final Rest is also a scythe skin and once had the same double effect, until they fixed it a while back. Up until then it had an extra pointy end sticking out a tiny bit below the top of the staff.

I was using it as a reference because Final Rest is also a scythe skin and once had the same double effect, until they fixed it a while back. Up until then it had an extra pointy end sticking out a tiny bit below the top of the staff.

In that case, though, if they “fixed” them the same way it would just make Scythe worse, because the effect was always well above the physical scythe blade.

Come to think of it, I think I remember this and making the same complaint at that time.
