Just need some ideas on what to do now
Sounds like you’ve done it all. Except maybe join a guild and help people get their stuff.
The problem with new MMOs is that there is no way to produce enough content to keep people playing forever. So either take a break and play something else until new content comes out, come in and enjoy the monthly events/upgrades, or join a guild of likeminded players and have fun playing with other people.
Honestly with a guild, and that comraderie, no MMO would hold my attention at launch for more than six months.
Edit: I’m also working towards a legendary weapon but that’s not what keeps me playing.
Thanks for your reply Vayne
I am a member of a guild, but sadly my guildmates rarely play anymore. Which is really too bad, since we had such a blast running dungeons together! Had a good time helping my mates get their dungeon tokens.
Perhaps I do need to find another guild to join, just to have active players to run about the PvE world with. Or take a break. Well… I guess I have already started on that break… I am about 15 hours into Bioshock: Infinite.
I remember playing LOTRO for 6 years before leaving to come here. I always felt like I had something I needed to do. For better or for worse, that sense of urgency just is not here in GW2. Not saying that’s a bad thing, it is what it is.
Hoping the April update to Living Story brings some terrific content! I was really liking Brahman’s story, and I look forward to seeing how it ends.

Do yourself a favor and find yourself a new guild. Playing with other people is a blast. It keeps everything fresh. Particularly when new people join who need help with stuff. At least for me it does.
Wow, you played a lot!
At your point, if you don’t like sPvP (which is more than understandable at current state) I’d suggest you to take a break from the game and wait for major updates or expansions.
Thank god GW2 is not a P2P, and doesn’t have a big gear treadmill, so there is nothing wrong to stop playing for a couple of months and come back to see how the game grew.

Have a break, just log into the monthly updates, complete them, go back to having a break…
Also, as you clearly have far too much free time for just one game, consider having 2 or more on the go at the same time…a change is as good as a rest they say…
You have done a lot. And you mentioned what you can still do (finish 400 crafting, the few remaining dungeon paths, etc). Obviously, the main objective is to have fun. So do whatever you find fun. If it’s becoming less fun because there’s no reward or no new content, take a break. That’s allowed.
Have you done Flame and Frost? Or help your guild with stuff. Or help low levels with faster leveling. Go for more cool armor combinations from dungeons/vendors. Delve into tPvP.

I get a good deal of enjoyment working on my daily and chasing the dragon timer around with my two 80s. I have done some puzzles. If I guessed, 15%? I’m not pushing to do them, but I’ll seek the one out in the zone if I haven’t tried it before and happen to think of it and not in a rush.
Master Crafter, that is the only thing I felt like I ‘completed’, per se. Oh, 100% map on my 2 80s. Actually got all the WvW mapping done for the next two characters I have, which are both around 35-50. One I was playing with a friend, who I don’t imagine will ever come back. Sadly most of my friends don’t play MMOs any more.
I did the main story once, and on the 2nd character, all the way up to Zoltan!! (sorry, can’t keep hearing that in my head and making the ‘Z’ with my hands when I hear Zhaitan), but not sure if I want to brave doing that again. I was lucky enough to do it with 4 crazy people who ‘loved’ repeating that in story mode just because they thought it was fun.
And still do a little WvW, though not terribly good at it. Just try to ‘listen’ (chat) and watch and go help where I think I’m needed. The ‘no typing’ trend is a bit frustrating for me, but on the plus side it’s a bit like getting to experience the world as a deaf person might, so trying to make the most of that.
I’m starting to play my alts a bit more, and recently started a 5th character, warrior. Though I still spend 90% of my time on my two 80s (Elementalist and Ranger) and most of that time on the former, who was my first and consider my main.
But honestly, I just really enjoy loitering around Queensdale still. At 80. When I can’t find 5 things to do in Queensdale for the dailies, I get a bit frustrated. I wish more people hung out in Divinity’s Reach, but “choosey mother’s choose Jif”, as they say, or however that saying goes.
I suppose my recommendation would be to do small bits of a little of everything and not too much of any one thing and not push too hard. That keeps it enjoyable for me. And sometimes ‘not’ playing as much in a week helps with enjoyment too. There’s nothing wrong with that.
Well, like in other games, you will need to set some superficial goals for yourself, if you are a goal-achiever
First of all, obvously, dungeon paths. Do them all!
Also, yes, join a big PvE-oriented guild! Get the guild commendations to get ascended earrings and enjoy!
WvWvW is endless fun, in my opinion! No two fights are the same. Try it with your two different classes, it will be pretty different
Get to fractals level 30. Higher end fractals are different than lower level ones and it’s fun to run a good fractal group fast to the end!
Do CoF speed runs… see if you can do path 1 under 7 minutes or not! Fast fun guaranteed!!!
You can also do some structured sPvP. I never did it, but I hear that it’s quite challenging for people!
You can also try to do all the achievements. Get all the fractal achievements, all the different paths, the achievements for all three groups in your story line…
And finally… make money off the TP. I played an older MMO just to see how rich I could get It’s a game in a game really: buying, reselling, keeping stock…
If all else fails… come to Tarnich Coast and role play
Always carries a towel – Never panics – Eats cookies.
You folks all have some terrific ideas Just hearing the things I still have available to do in game reminds me of the reasons I love the game in the first place. I’ve recently started on completing every puzzle achievement in the game, and have really been enjoying it!
I do like the suggestion to have more than one game on the go, however. I’ve been playing GW1 quite a bit these past couple of weeks, and have really been liking the challenge! It’s kind of funny… my partner and I are taking on the Nightfall campaign, and he said “I can’t get over how dangerous this place is! It’s nothing like GW2.” That is another thread altogether though
Thanks to all of you for your kind and helpful suggestions!
