Just say something, anything!
Anet plans to say something about the feature patch all this week and for the next two weeks. That should give you some indication no?
I feel like some of the changes are thread-bare and to me, personally, don’t warrant a whole day dedicated to their announcement. Some of the things we also already knew about. We want new information, big information – even if it’s just the clarification of what they’re working on. ‘Big projects in the background’ can be subjective and/or already released. What are they doing now? What is our plan for the (quickly) approaching 2015?
They should have done 3 days instead of 3 weeks. That way each day would have a lot of information. This is mostly a presentation thing, but it is disappointing to look forward to a blog post only for it to not say much or talk about something you weren’t interested in. I’m sure the feature pack will make some very big changes to the game. It just won’t seem like it if they only show a bit of information at a time. I think people will be more excited if they are overwhelmed than if they are drip fed.
League Of Ascending Immortals [OATH]
I’m sure most of us will be overwhelmed on patch day. And believe it or not, some people love being drip fed information this way (don’t ask me why).
It’s the community’s own fault that we’re stuck with this awkward silence. They used to be far more vocal about their vision and dreams for the future of GW2.
Consistently A-net has been punished for their ambition by the players. Things that didn’t turn out quite as they had hoped it are being thrown in their face time and time again.
In the end their solution seems to be silence and vague pointers.
