Just went 1 for 23 tries on mystic clovers
Scratch that. It was actually 130 shards (13 tries), since one of the rolls gave me 20 shards as output.
Well, I don’t know if this will make you feel any better, but a few weeks ago, I flushed the toilet 22 times and got clovers twice. After saving up more ectos, etc, I went to do another 150 a couple of days ago and got clovers 5 out of my first 6 tries. So, don’t despair, just keep at it.
For mystic clovers just fill up pvp reward tracks. They are a way better, faster and cheaper way for mystic clovers instead of these valueable low income spiritshards.
[RUC] Riverside United Corps! For Riverside!
Did you get a lot of T6 mats?
God I wish I had that luck, sometimes I roll the clover recipe in order to get T6 mats and clovers are a waste. Anyone want 350 clovers?
Congratulations.
When I tried to get T6 mats from this recipe I only got clovers… -_-"
Rofl, just rolled 5 individual ones and went 0 for 5.
So that’s a total of 1 out of 18 rolls.
Alongside the fact that I have over 600 arena wins in PvP but yet Anet only acknowledges 90 of them (despite 2 full class champion titles…see my other thread), I think ANET has officially ruined my return to GW2
Did you get a lot of T6 mats?
I think like 5 globs of dark matter. What a game, ANET.
Actually it’s RNG’s fault and Zommoros or w/e you spell his name!
I used to be a power ranger, now not sure anymore

Dark matter is a T7 mat and cannot be acquired from the recipe used to get mystic clovers. T6 mats are the ones that will drop. They sell for a reasonable amount, or can be used for legendary crafting (which I assume is what you’re going for if you care about clovers).
I’m going to assume you didn’t have 12 attempts at the forge where you didn’t get any T6 mats. You should actually be getting quite a lot of them if you’re not rolling clovers.
As for the cost, I’d be more worried about the amount of ectoplasms you used, and not the obsidian shards, which are incredibly easy to get.

Dark matter does not drop from clover recipes. So 1 clover out of 18 tries and 1 try gave you obsidians, so you got T6 materials (or ectos) on 16 tries.
500 ectos, 500 obsi, 500 mystic coins… only 43 Clovers… It’s so depressing.
500 ectos, 500 obsi, 500 mystic coins… only 43 Clovers… It’s so depressing.
This seems to be closer to it, when I made my last legendary, I had to use around 400-500 ecto to get the 77 clovers out, the T6 mats that I got did not cover the cost of the ecto or coins,
There are more and more people getting these kind of results, wonder did Anet change the % chance to soak up some more of them ecto from the market.

Nope its just RNG
same as all the treads : Did anet * enter here nerf or buff* ecto salvage from rares at SW?"
the answer is as i said: not the x-factor or illuminati anet —> just RNG

I assume you did it with 10 at a time recipes and not the 1 at a time.
RNG plays a lot bigger part with the 10 at a time tries. The more tries you do, the closer you get to the average.
shouldn’t be sad if you get a lot of T6 instead of clover….. sometimes i gamble on clover, 1-per-try , just to get T6….
Archeage = Farmville with PK

Lol just play sPvP. I am not even trying for another legendary and already got some 60 clovers waiting, at zero cost.

He could do the one that gives the ambrite weapons. Only 2 clovers for finishing it, but can get the greatsword each time to craft pretty cheaply plus the drytop keys, bandit keys and geodes for more drytop keys.
ANet may give it to you.

Man I wish I had your luck, I have like 2 stacks of those stupid clovers from gambling for T6 mats. I ended up just vendoring one of the stacks, I keep the second around just in case.
cracks knuckles…OK…I’ll play the game too!!
First 10..nothing!!!
Then 2 lots of 10×.
So marginally better than yours…but I wont be jumping up and down with joy

Ya me too. Got enough clover for a couple more legendaries. Still gave me a butt load of T6.

Wait what? Faster?

“PvP Reward Tracks
Currently the final reward chest of each region track as well as the final reward chest of the Balthazar Back Item Reward Track and Glorious Reward Track yield two Mystic Clovers each. The non-repeatable Silverwastes Reward Track yields 7 Mystic Clovers in its final chest."
Given a maximum of 2 sub tracks a day out of 8 that means 4 days to get the 7 from the SW track and then 4 days each for each 2 after that.
To get 77 clovers this way means 4 days for SW track and then completing other tracks 35 times for the other 70.
35 times 4 days is 140 days
For a total of 144 minimum (assuming you get max track reward every single day)
I fail to see how this is in any way faster, unless the fact its guaranteed vs rng in the toilet is what you’re counting as faster?
Or is there other ways to get them from PvP that isn’t listed on the wiki?
There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.” -AnthonyOrdon
You should be doing the 1 at a time recipe. This will increase your number of attempts which will cause your results to be closer to the expected average outputs.
By doing the 10 at a time recipe, you’ve cut your number of attempts to 1/10 which makes you much more susceptible to variance.

Wow that is pretty bad. I went for 70 clovers yesterday- I always use the 10 recipe. I had about 200 spirit shards (including tomes that I used) and was left with 90. So that was only about 20 tries and I got all 70. I’ve had dry spells in the past, though. I’m pretty sure Zommoros isnt happy until he’s depleted all of your spirit shards. If I’m not getting ~one in three success, I stop trying for the day.
i have a friend who uses this to make money and is happy when he gets no clovers
but t6 mats instead ^^

The root cause of this isn’t the forge. It’s that ArenaNet’s real life economy is tied to the in-game economy. Make the RNG poor and it flushes that gold out of the economy faster leaving players with less gold to convert to gems and maybe a better RNG chance for you to pull your wallet out and just buy the gems with real money instead.

This.
In my experience (I have forged many legendaries and clovers), the probability is very close to the one stated by wiki: 230-250 to get 77 mystic clovers.
In any case, if you get valuable T6 materials, it is not lost money. The problem is when you get leather, ore or something similar.

Once upon a time I spent 800, that is Eight Zero Zero shards and ectos trying to get 77 clovers for my Meteorlogicus. You’d think I at least got a lot of T6 mats out of it but that would be an insult to my what I really got out of it. A whole ton of gossamer and T6 leather.
God I wish I had that luck, sometimes I roll the clover recipe in order to get T6 mats and clovers are a waste. Anyone want 350 clovers?
That’s one of the least efficient ways of converting karma and/or spirit shards into gold. I strongly recommend rolling for clovers only if one is working on a legendary.
Excuse my ignorance, but why would you roll for T6 mats on this anyways? Ectos are really expensive….and you also need to spend spirit shards and obs shards.

If you’ve got a TON of Spirit and Obsidian Shards that aren’t doing you any good it isn’t the worst way to convert them into gold.
It certainly isn’t the best way though.

It was a much better deal in the past when ectos were like 29s and T6’s were above 75s each.
I wouldn’t recommend doing it now with T6 low and ectos high.
out of 10 tries i got 70 clover thats mean i failed 3 times and im sad i want to fail more to get the T6 mats but no hope
( its my first legendary thats why i need the T6 )
If you are rolling for clovers then you need the t6s anyway …

i dont think and why do i need to start the legendary if i dont have the stuff for it i got all the gifts and im going for tha last one and i need just a lil more T6 mats
120 shards is like 15 minutes of treasure hunt in the Silverwastes.
Exaggerating, but please complain about the Ectos or spirit shards instead.
This has been a public service announcement.

Unless you already have all the T6 you need, which is why I always tell people go for the clovers early on, then at least the T6 is still useful towards the legendary.

Spirit shards shouldn’t be much of an issue either if you are chest farming.

How so? I spent 2 hours (farming crests and in a silverwaste train), dug up 20-30 chests, and literally got ~10 shards.
Is my luck just really bad?

You need to join a chest farm map if you want efficiency for your time, in 2hrs I got 110 chests this morning.

If you don’t mind, could you please explain how you do this?
The method I used was to farm up some crests, buy a bunch of keys, and then use the “LFG” option to taxi into a map that was led by a commander. We literally dug up like 30 chests….but I only got 10 shards or so.
May the Sink be with you!
The payout on Mystic Toilet recipes is so bad that it would make Las Vegas casinos blush. Don’t feel bad about getting crappy returns from the Toilet, because the odds of getting anything decent really are that low.
Spirit shards or Obsidian shards are not an issue for me. The problem is when you exchange 10 globs of ectoplasm and 10 Mystical coins for items like leather and gossamer scraps. It really hurts.

I can’t think of any worse way to spend spirit shards, except to intentionally waste them “upgrading” silk to gossamer.

Did you include the farming crests time in your 2hrs? Tbh I’ve had a surplus of crests for a while and am just able to buy keys at will for each run. The efficiency of CFs are also pretty varied – had a fabulous one where 2 thieves went ahead and dug up all the boxes and it was basicly running loot to loot.
Bit of luck getting the right chest farm though I guess, frankly I think its disgusting but its the best way to get fully stocked and ready for HoT atm imo.
There are also some community event chest farms where they actually have teams filling the bar slowly leading to a great haul from CF and VW to fnish. Try gw2community into google they might do one.
Other than that be lucky ^^ (Lyssa tends to be pretty nice after a few goats)
