Just... why 3 weeks?
Generating hype, marketing etc. you name it. I also want to know what we will get NOW, but somehow I find it fun speculating – even if it can lead to disappointment sometimes.
Maybe a break for storyboard team. Maybe it’s time for their vacations and they are human too. :p
If Anet announces the featurepack but won’t say what it contains, people will complain because they don’t know what will be in the pack.
If Anet announces the featurepack and give the list straightaway people complain because it isn’t revealed the same way as the previous feature pack.
if Anet announces the featurepack and split the list in small bits like now, people complain because it isn’t the list in one time.
If Anet releases the featurepack without announcing it, people complain that it wasn’t announced.

When you do so much wrong things in a row, people start to critize everything that you do. This is an understanble reaction from frustrated people.
I mean, I can understand you take 3 weeks to release a major “feature pack”. But why to keep it “secret” for two weeks, and just comment what will be new day by day?
Why not you just say “hey, here’s the list of features we will release in 4th sep. Enjoy!”
I’m dieing to know what features you will implement, and from “past packs”, most comunity guesses out of the title were wrong. When we’re on the 3rd week I will just forget what you announced in the first week.
The fact people drop off their Ritalin isn’t ArenaNet’s problem.
Based on the previous feature pack release my guess is that it includes some big changes and they want to take the time to explain each of them individually and give us time to discuss and understand them.
That’s what they did last time – a separate blog post for each of the major changes. Even then there was a lot of confusion over what was being changed and how it worked, both before and after the patch.
If they announced it all in one go it’d be too much to take in.
