K..whats up with that 900sec between posting?
“Flood Control: Please wait 900 seconds between posts!”
Do you have any idea how kitten long it is? Whats the reason behind it?
QUOTE:
The Community Team has updated some features on the Guild Wars 2 Forums which give us a tiered system of forum privileges & access based on number of infraction points. We decided to offer this tiered approach so players lose various privileges versus receiving harsher suspensions and permanent bans. We would like our players to consider their posting habits and encourage following the Code of Conduct. We are confident that this approach is more conducive to guiding a more positive experience for our community.

Solution:
Be less toxic and follow forum Code of Conduct.
You got infracted most likely. It will go down eventually. I had 30 minute flood control about 6 months back. And i know someone who had 1 hour flood control over a year ago. Kind of miraculous to get that much flood control without being perma banned. :P
Sounds like you’ve been naughty then. :O
What’s your hurry?

where can you see your status/infractions/expected flood control/ when it goes away
where can you see your status/infractions/expected flood control/ when it goes away
You can’t. They said they don’t want people knowing how many infractions they have and when the expiration dates are because they think people will use that information to get infractions and wait for it to wear off before getting another.
ANet may give it to you.
Is it possible to not have extra forum accounts if one has extra game accounts? I have two game accounts — and two forum accounts to go along with them. I never use the other one, but it’s there available to be chosen whenever I log on to the forums.

generally if you want punishment to be a deterrent, it has to be clear what exactly the effects are/rules are. Sure people will may stop being jerks until their punishment disappears, but isnt that the same thing?
if people dont understand consequences, they tend to ignore them, which defeats the purpose.
but thanks for the info anyhow.

I wouldn’t be worried about it. Remember most of these measures/rules are to keep a clean, healthy, controlled forum enviroment.
Normal non-toxic use should not be an issue.
Considering the fact that i can get infraction for the most kitten things ever like a commend “hahahahah” when someone throw a really stupid statement/argument and it may be considered as “disruptive behavior” (been there done that) it makes no sense whatsoever.
Also by logic increasing time floor makes no sense either. It wont do anything other than annoy people which leads to the point that they will become even more toxic once someone kitten them off like it happens in my case (hello white knights!).
Now im curious if its possible to hit 24h floor time. Oh well thread can be closed. Got my answer. Ty

Your answer shows that your “time-out” seems to have been warranted. You are looking at this from the wrong way by the way.
The time-out is not there to annoy you or penalize you harshly. It’s the exact opposite, instead of getting you perma banned you are getting a slight slap on the wrist and the choice of reconsidering if you want to stay a member of these forums or not. Pick option 1 and you’ll be happy they didn’t instant ban you. Decide to go for option 2 and good riddance since continued infractions will lead to longer and perma bans.

I think what is implied is that a player should not be using (i.e. posting, commenting) with alternate accounts. I guess it’s to deter people from bumping their own topics and similar things.
If a player wanted to check account information/access support on an alt account, they’d have to log in to the guildwars2 website, and thus the forums. I don’t think logging/reading forum posts on an alt account is against the rules.. so yeah.
I would also safely assume that it’d be ok to stop using one forum account and start using another (say, if you decided to change main accounts or some other reason). The real problems are when a player is using multiple accounts on the forums at the same time.
