What happened to all the Karka near Southsun Shoals and Ember Passage after the May 29th update?

people dared to farm those, so they actually managed to extinguish karka in that area

With all the magic find people were actually making decent coin & not needing gems from the gem store, so they were removed to steer us to the gem store.

A lot of the pasiflora was removed too…

Why not just state that in the patch notes?

Sucks, I was making a few gold there…

they did state in patch notes, i do’t remember the exact wording but was something like:
now karka won’t harass player trying to enter the new istance for the living story

Buying gems Vs buying with gems is irrelevant. The value of gems is dictated by the stocks of gems, when you buy gems with gold, somebody else is essentially footing the bill for you with their gem to gold conversion somewhere else up the line.

It’s all a net gain to arenanet…

I don’t interpret that as removing spawns.

The way the notes were written makes it sound like this pic shouldnt happen, instead of removing 7/8 of the karka between the 2 pride wp’s.

and those note were on the previous patch not today’s

Yeah, maybe the karka obliteration canon was slightly off course. :x

The drops appear to be the same, but in the open area of southsun shoals, karka spawn seems to have been greatly diminished, and they no longer spawn in some areas.

I wonder if this was intended, or just a side effect of them reducing the karka spawn in the area before you enter Canach’s lair.

Whether it was intentional or not, hopefully it’s gets turned back to normal once Lost Shores is over.

Well, the karkas near canach’s lair are as numerous as before, so i guess they might have gotten the place wrong.
