Due to the new minis and tonics as well as constantly changing armor I am running low on karma. I want to start farming to raise my karma up for winters day. I was wondering is it better to farm bitter frost where I can get karma for killing creatures and doing events? Or is silver waste still the better area to karma farm?

if you do the easy dailies in the LS maps (unbound magic gathering, aerial attack, berries, peach, etc) you can get a nice chunk of karma a day.

as for what else to do. Teq is a good one for karma, and probably Silverwastes events, rather than Bitterfrost

Get the Karmic Retribution from the unbound magic vendor in Ember Bay. There will be three tiers of it that you will want to buy. Ember Bay has the highest enemy density which is why I’d do that map. You should average about 180 karma per kill.

Yup. Just doing the quick ones in episodes 1-4, I get 10k karma. I tend not to bother with Draconic Mons after I finished map completion on it. The dailies aren’t as conducive to quick in-out, and I ran out of shared slots to put the scrolls in. :\

Many alts; handle it!

Fractals are also a good source of karma, especially with appropriate karma buffs. Be sure to include the easy stuff:

  • Guild karma buff
  • Guild banners
  • Candy cane (1-2s each)
  • Winter’s Blessing (if you still have a few)
  • A winter’s food (cheapest are the cake & ice cream, under 0.5s each)
  • A winter’s utility/wrench (peppermint oil is ~2s each)
  • karmic enrichment for your amulet

“I want to start farming to raise my karma up for winters day” – for me, I refill my karma during wintersday then spend it the rest of the year :P what consumes so much karma during wintersday?

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Wrapped_Gift
giving these to orphans gets you gazzillions of karma.
costs like 1s + 504 karma each, gives 1500 karma back (but increased by all karma buffs, realistically able to get about +100%, so about 3000 karma back.

28 orphans daily x 30 days x 2500 karma = 2.1 million juicy karmaliciousness

Wintersday has one of the most time-efficient sinks in the game, for Wintersday Gifts. It’s not as good a karma→gold rate as others, until you take into account the time and effort of the other methods.

Since most people can farm 10s faster than they can farm 1k karma, I personally wouldn’t spend the time worrying about it. For me, it’s just a mindless sink.
