Karma/Gold Farming Feb.2014
Hi there!
Gold -> Dungeons, Champs, T6 gathering
Karma -> Tequatl, World Events
Also, don’t forget that you can guest to other servers and farm there.
Lastly, you can improve your rate by optimizing how you treat your loot. Learn what to salvage, what to sell, what to forge and you can increase the value you get from your drops.
Btw… if you want a Legendary, skip the Ascended. It isn’t worth the current cost unless you’ve already got a Legendary (or more) and have nothing else to use your assets on.

By doing AC path 1 or 3 you get 1.5g and it takes you like 20 minutes. If you use the LFG tool, you should not have too many problems finding a group, because it is shared between servers. The drops you get there are also better, further boosting your income.
The champ train in Frostgorge Sound is also more profitable than the one in Queensdale. There are many servers doing this one, so you can get away with guesting on one.
For karma, you can do activities, events, fractals or WvW. Farming karma is difficult currently. You should rather not go out of your way to get karma, as there is just no efficient way to get it. Just play the game, it should still add up over time.
Find a world boss train. And like The Last Hobbit said, learn what to sell and what to salvage. Also, never sell anything to an NPC unless you can’t get more on the TP (can’t stress this enough!!).
Karma: world boss train usually at server reset (certain servers; you can guest) and WvW zerg running (go to EB, it will have an easy to tag onto zerg running pretty much 24/7).
Gold: Frostgorge Sound will net you WAY more gold than QD because of the higher opportunity to get T6 mats which are worth around 40s each ATM. Dungeons too, as stated. AC or CoF are good choices as once you know what to do and have a decent group together they are super fast and easy. Someone else just recently posted about a new Orr champ train, but I haven’t tried it yet. They stated at least 1.5g per hour, which to me seems really low.
I can easily make 100,000 karma just from a good, casual week in WvW. It’s not hard to come by unless your entire WvW is dead.
Wow,
Thank you guys sooooo much. I didn’t know about server guest[ing].
This is the first time ive been back to GW2 in over a year.
Cheers.
Secret tip: try activities for karma.
My previous post was deleted and I think it was misunderstood by the moderator so I’ll be more clear and explain myself better.
You can buy gems from ArenaNet. Those gems can be turned into gold through the Currency Exchange in the “Black Lion Trading Company” (in-game).
If you do it that way, with current prices, it means you can pay ArenaNet $10 for gems worth 50g by current prices.
As such, working in a job and buying gems would be the fastest way to get gold. Assuming your time is limited, you work and have money to spare.
Added: I appreciate everyone who works hard and doesn’t have time to grind for the stuff they need and decide to support the game by buying gems for gold. It pays for all the free content that we get!

Secret tip: try activities for karma.
That’s what I was thinking. Why wouldn’t Southsun Survival be a good way to farm karma?
Edge of the Mists is pretty fast karma/gold atm. Problem might be finding a overflow with a commander that focus on capping stuff rather than defending and other time wasting activities.
WvWvW can be a rather great karma train from time to time.
On the guesting, you can guest to 2 different servers every 24 hours. Once you’ve guested to a server you can come and go as much as you want. You do this through the character selection page, at the bottom left you “choose world”. Note that if you log out or go back to your character select screen, the game will automatically put you back to your home server, so you’d have to choose the guesting world again to go there. Once in the guesting server though, you can waypoint all over and you will stay on that server until you log out or go to character select screen.
Do a little google searching and you’ll quickly find which servers are good for which activities.
Note that you cannot guest and do WvW. You can only do that on your home server.
One note about guesting… make absolutely sure that when you guest, you are not transferring servers. There are multiple threads (some as far back as when guesting was introduced) about how easy it is to accidentally transfer to another server if you hit the wrong button. If you should transfer, it’s an 1800 gem hit to your reserves(if you have them) if it’s a “high” population server that you’re trying to guest to.
Temple runs and World Boss fights can be rewarding. Our server does a full temple run on Sunday mornings. Hitting the world bosses daily when timed well is a quick way to score a decent amount of gold. I use gw2stuff.com to track them.

Hello! Check out my guide, “How to make money” (gold).
Good guide for new players You will love it man ^^
You only need 80 lvl and time for it

gold ? —-→ farm orichalcum, ancient wood,
karma ? —→ get your fractal as high as possible ( > 10) , and then repeatedly do low level ( fotm 1).
Archeage = Farmville with PK
Tequatl (if your server can beat him) is also a very good source of karma. You get 12,000 karma in consumables for a victory, not counting the karma you also get from the multiple Group Events you complete during the battle. (Usually somebody also drops a Heroes banner which increases the karma gain even more!)
It pays for all the free content that we get!
It’s not free content. We paid for it already upfront. The analogy of a buffet has been used in a previous thread.
In any case, dungeons for gold and fractals below your level for karma.
