I am floundering trying to get karma to buy presents for the soulder piece. I am wasting time attempting the jump puzzle I tried 90 min one day and 30 the next till i finally gave up. So I am trying to do it with Bells. I have a banner and food but just not getting enough. I am also do PVP daily am just starting to HATE Guild Wars 2 and will need a break after this is over.

My question is should I keep doing bells or does the Donation Drive Orphan’s really help? It looks like a lot of wasted time running around. Is it better than just bells?

Definitely do orphans, and do all 30 each day not just 15. Eat one of the karma foods and nutrients. Use that snowball orb with 10% karma you can get each day. If you have enough laurels get an ascended amulet with a utility slot and get a plus 15% karma added to it. Go to your guild hall and get a 10% karma boost from the bartender. If you have a karma banner or see one, use it. After that, do the bells and get karma from that. Be sure and do any vista daily as that has a karma consumable.

15k karma minimum in 5 minutes from donating gifts is about as fast as anything, including Tequatl (15-20k, for 20 minutes minimum, including setup; includes 14k from chests + events). You can increase this to ~60k with less than 12 minutes of effort by visiting all orphans with easily-obtained karma buffs.

The Charity Corps Seraph sells wrapping paper for 504 karma. Each gift given to an Orphan rewards 1504 karma, with gift costs running from 15 to 60 copper (depending on how you acquire it). (You could buy them for another 504 karma, but that’s not wise if your goal is to increase your karma.)

In other words, you increase karma by at least 1,000/orphan or 15k/day for the daily and 30k/day for visiting all available orphans. With easily-obtained buffs, 2k/orphan, 30k for daily, or 60k for all orphans. (And with less-easily obtained buffs, you can get even more.)
