I know it’s been awhile since they made it more difficult to obtain these boosters and I seem to of missed the point as to why. So if anyone could explain what the reasoning behind it was? Thanks.

Probably because they think karma is too easy to get. It’s supposed to be a time sink to some extent but a lot of people had millions of it sitting around. No real official response on this tho so you can only guess.
