Karma to Gold FAST in 2017?

Nothing wrong with Afk farming because it gives necromancers something to do. Not like a demand for them exists after all for the life of the game.
As for karma someone can correct me if I’m wrong but you can spend karma to get packs to assist in map bonus farming. They speed up the process in getting the rewards which you sell for cash on the tp.
FAST would be orrian jewel boxes
not so fast but more efficient would be pact scout mapping materials, but thats more of a long term conversion because mapping materials are timgated and you need to wait for the right bonus map rotation (and if you want to be smart another 2 to 3 weeks until you actually sell these materials because in the FGS Week the prices will propably drop a little bit)
Karma to gold fast will get you a really low karma to gold rate.
Karma to gold slow will get you a much higher karma to gold rate.
You can buy mid-tier karma gloves and forge them for a salvageable version that breaks down into high-value mid-tier crafting materials (linen, for example). This is time consuming and tedious but has a great karma to gold rate.
As mentioned above, you can log in each day and get up to 6 Pact Network Supply mapping materials (per day) and then cash them in every few weeks when the map bonus rewards line up for high value items.
There are a few cooking recipes that require karma-purchased ingredients that have high profit margins (but slow sale times).
There are karma only weapon skins available for sale in each racial capital city (not a great way to make gold, but you unlock the skin and can toss 4 weapons into the MF for a new weapon that you can sell).
The mid tier karma gloves thing is an awesome idea, thanks for that!

I’m about two hundred percent certain that a use for karma comes before, not after, AFK farming for it. Also, I wouldn’t die to learn that easy obsidian was a motivator there, TBH, rather than gold.

I can’t imagine anyone thinking that anyone who has actually had a surplus of karma thinks it’s a good thing to farm for gold. I can imagine that people think it’s an adequate way of acquiring obby or that last little bit to afford a skin. Mind you, it’s far faster to actually, you know, play the game.
I use Karma primarily as an alt booster. I let it build up, whenever I feel like playing an alt I have plenty to quickly gear them up. Almost all of my karma has been spent on getting the exotic armor from Orr for alts as a quick and easy gear upgrade.
Gold is easy to get. Karma, not so much. You can’t have too much karma. When you need it, you need big gobs of it.
I farm karma nightly, even though I have about 3.5 million of it at the moment. 1500 karma every 5 minutes or so, but only about 20,000 per night.
In the early part of the game, it was the only way to get obsidian shards, and I spent roughly a million of it. Later it was the only way to get very rare recipes (Superior sigil of malice, anyone?) and I estimate spending about half a million on those wandering merchants. More recently, I’ve turned a million karma into an ascended backpack and a full set of ascended jewelry (5 pieces), done with 100% karma, and spent about a 1.7 million to produce a full set of ascended leather armor (6 pieces), so dropped to about 2.5 million in the wallet. Using karma reduced the armor set gold cost to about 10g. Many people complain about the high cost of leather, but I’m not one of them.
Since at the moment there is scant new content again, a few of my hoard of characters are rebuilding my hoard of karma. It’s the new equivalent to camping a chest at the end of a jumping puzzle.

Forgive me asking a question vaguely unrelated to the thread, but what path was that for karma to leather? cough not that I might have an interest in a set of ascended armor that requires leather and all…

Buy 4 Karma medium gloves from Renown Heart vendors of the appropriate tier for the leather you are looking for.
Throw 4 gloves into the Mystic Forge to get 1 new pair of gloves (it will be slightly higher level than the average of the 4 items you threw in, so bear that in mind).
Salvage the new gloves for leather.

This was a mess before you could just buy a whole stack …
Save it for Christmas time. I made some gold last Xmas buy spending about 3 Mil Karma on those winters boxes.

That’s what I would have recommended. However the OP wants it fast. For myself, I store up all the karma I get all year long then spend it during Wintersday on the Wintersday Gifts and the Festive Bag of Materials.
ANet may give it to you.

The most tedious aspect (for me, anyhow) was never the purchasing; it’s the clicking individual items to forge, salvaging, making room, dealing with non-sal/soulbound items, and so on.
Plus, there have always been other ways to convert karma to gold.
