I find myself becoming deeply critical of GW2 and what ANet says vs. what ANet does. However I think it’s important to keep things in perspective. Everything ANet has delivered since the game’s introduction has been monetarily “free” to the Player base.

I bought the box and so far the promise of “buy once, play forever” has been completely upheld.

In short, if we get anything above what we received at launch, it’s a bonus. I know it’s difficult to watch GW2 evolve into something different than our wildest dreams… but it only costs us the time we sink into it.

Part of me thinks that someone in ANet was thinking “hey, wanna see something funny? Watch this…”

I kinda disagree … we do need to be happy with all this updates and in theory any update is just a “bonus”, but we need to make critics and point where the game can do better to improve the game for us and future players, we all want the best from the money we spend, right?

I think the problem are the people that just complain and have no idea why, look at the CDI topic, that is perfect example of people pointing what is wrong and what can be improved the right way.

Agreed. While there are definitely issues with the game, which of course there would be as nothing is perfect, people probably should chill out a bit.

My biggest pet peeve are the players who say “THIS IS BROKEN FIX IT” while giving no suggestions at all. It’s like standing directly next to a fire and just yelling “SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS KITTEN”. The thousands of topics yelling “Ranger pets are broken” do not contribute anything more to the discussion, while the one topic saying “Ranger pets are broken, here is an idea” adds so much.

Just my two copper.

“SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS KITTEN”.

Rub it’s little tummy?… Just joking :P I know you meant to say kitten, or may kitten or who knows maybe even kitten.

But yeah what bothers me is that we (myself included) ask ANet to communicate with us, engage with the community. When they do it formally it get’s called PR speak, when they do it more casually then it’s like ANet brought the tablets down from the mountain and then everyone complains about ANet not keeping their word. Although they do seem to have found a middle ground, postfixing almost every comment about the game with a disclaimer.
