Dear Anet,

I am wondering why there is an armor in-game that is 100% unobtainable without spending thousands of gold on the trading post. As far as I have seen, a lot of “event-only” items have been released at the Laurel Vendor, but this particular ascended item set is locked to people who were lucky enough to obtain it during the Marionette Event. If this was a silly vanity item, I could understand it being “absent” from the game, but this is an armor set. An entire armor set in the highest stat are unavailable because… why? I would appreciate if you could look into this issue seeing as making ascended armor is expensive as it is.

Thank you.

I second this. It seems odd that these recipes are locked behind the “one-time event” when every Living story content henceforth has been obtainable with gems.
At least for me it’s another elimitated factor for trying something different from the stale Zerker/ Condi meta.

Giving the content draught since the HoT announcement, I wouldnt expect a fix until it is released.

Probably right, Wanze, but would still like to know if this is “on the table”. Cause I agree. This is a fine set to have, but not at the cost of almost 3 k gold for just the recipes. And that’s not the weapons included. Just the armour.

I personally disagree. I do not own it nor will I ever own it personally but this is an mmorpg. Not everyone will have everything. People who play the game a lot and have nothing else in the game to do makes it a great goal. There will always be in every single mmorpg these armors or weapons that a small percentage of the players will have. If you want it you have to earn it, yes you’ll need to farm a lot of events for gold or play the trading post or get lucky with drops. But that’s the game.

How about Keeper’s Trinkets ANET? They are not available at all

Sure. IF IT WAS STILL AVAILABLE FOR A DROP. Which it is not. It was for one event, and one event only, and has never since been re-released. A VERY limited number of people got them. And MAY I remind you that you cannot sell Ascended gear. So even those who have it, cannot make to sell it. Just in case you did not know.

I would honestly like to see this return. I don’t mind working for it, I do mind not having any way to obtain it other than forking out obscene amounts of gold for the recipes.

And +100 on the jewelry!

it was released again during lion arch invasion.

so there’s a chance it’ll come back.

I heard Anet mention about bringing back marionette event some time in the future as guild mission. So there’s hope Anet “might” release it again.

I was lucky enough to have bought the heavy set when it was released, The average price then was 5-30 gold/recipe for all the pieces, with the heavy pieces by for the most expensive as the drops were a bit rare.

I bought the light and medium set later on paying 375 for the light and 275 for the medium, I’m stil hoping druids will get some healing abilities.

I use the light ascneded set atm on necromancer.
I’m still workikng on making the heavy set for a guardian, it could double as an armor for a shout heal warrior.
I’m stil waiting to craft the medium.

Also I do understand why it became so expensive:

Due to everybody shouting power/ precision / healing is useless, you will not make a healer in this game they are not needed, and if you do want a healer you’d want healing as a main stat…. Nobody farmed the pieces, drop rates were low anyways. Everybody focussed on zerk/sin. The few people who actually bought these have a very interesting set.

The reason nobody wanted them and the below average droprate resultd in recipe’s worth above 250-400 gold on the TP,

I paid ~375 gold for the heavy armor recipes…all Last time I checked cause somebody asked me they were 2400 gold.

The set isn’t complete…. There are still no zealot trinkets. Zealot trinkets and zerk armor would allow for decent healing. roughly equal to the ppl wearing zealot armor and using zerk trinktes atm, I do own a guard with the exotic armor and trinkets, but it is not soo much better… the loss of ferocity will destroy the dps balance, leaving me equipping zerk trinkets regularly. (trinket would add a further 200 healing making maximum healing ~1200-1300 without food, but including runes.)

IMHO good uses for zealot armor:
water ele,
support/heal guard,
shout heal warrior,
support necro.
no actual use for medium classes though engineer could benefit. I do not play engi though.

23 lvl 80’s, 9 times map, 4ele, 4ncr, 3war, 3grd, 3rgr, 2thf, 2msm, 1eng, 1 rev.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

As already mentioned, they got re-released during LA invasion, just with a bunch of other previously unobtainable stuff, like recipes and items from the molten facility, for example.

So i think they will reintroduce a bunch of stuff in future releases, whatever those releases will be, either HoT or another content update.
I trade alot in recipes in general but im working on selling off all my stock before HoT.
Celestial could become a problem as well sooner or later, with the bazaar gone.

Uh… were you actually playing at the time of Marionette? These were end-chest rewards (also found in the hideout chests), so pretty much everyone and their brother was ‘farming’ them at that point, in so much as doing-something-that-may-or-may-not-drop-this-particular-item-and-you-can’t-influence-the-drop-rate constitutes farming.

Well I dont know the set, but isnt it the same skin as any other ascended armor? Or you mean the stats? The zealot insignia costs only 1g

I believe that’s true for skins and other cosmetics, things which act purely as status symbols and badges of dedication to the game. But when it’s a functional piece of gear? Something a build might need to be competitive?

I don’t think it should be any harder to obtain than and of anything more than commensurate value to similar gear.

I guess you mean the recipe for the ascended insignia, which only costs 1g.
However, in order to craft it, you also need an exotic zealot insignia, which is account bound and the recipe for that costs 6g already.

Then you also need the recipe sheets for each armor piece, which go for 10-600g atm.
