What do you do outside of normal game play or mechanics to keep the game interesting for you?

For example, we hold Jump Puzzle races in our guild every couple weeks. Get everyone on a starting line and hand out prizes for 1st thru 3rd place finishers.

I’ve also made a game out of seeing how many of my skills I can get off before a champ dies in a champ farm. Sometimes I can do it and I feel very accomplished.

What do you or your guild mates do in game that has no outward support from the game developers?

My interest comes in peaks and valleys, and recently it has died down a lot and I barely play at the moment.

What keeps me interested in an MMO is the feeling of the game moving forward, and I don’t feel that the game is moving forward at the moment. There is no story evolving and the content is disjointed – nothing is a continuation of a previous update, just a completely new update.

What keeps me playing on the other hand is PvP, general gameplay and visual costumization.

I would PvP a lot but there is only one mode and it gets so boring after a while.

Being able to quickly switch armour would be a huge feature for me. I am a skin collector and if I could just switch between sets I would have a lot more to do.
I love being able to switch armour sets and adjust my look to the zone, even if it’s just for walking around.
Items that turn me into other races are also exciting to me. I was crazy about the Watchknight Tonikittenil(why is “tonic + until” cencored?) I found out about the cooldown. And I would go for the Infinite Molten Berserker Tonic, but you can’t use it in combat.
I would also have a lot more to go for if we weren’t restricted to one armour type, or if we could hide more of our clothes.

What we do in life echoes in eternity

Play a few weeks, uninstall for a few months.

After a few things happening in game in the past couple of days I’m fast approaching the uninstall phase.

This is what the game defaults to when the devs, who are dropping content patches very two weeks, aren’t clever enough to make that content fun and unique. Players like the OP have to generate their own tweaks to keep the game interesting, and WvW’ers organize duels, 5v5’s, and guild-versus-guild fights in otherwise unused portions of the maps.

Somewhere along the line the original premise and promise of GW2 has become strangled, subverted by poorly chosen changes and additional grind instead of additional content.

As much as I hate the current status of wvw, this is the first game since DAoC to hold my attention for this long. Even WoW, which was pretty revolutionary for its time, didn’t hold me for half this time. Sure, the majority of it has to do with the people you play with, but they have to be doing something right to keep me playing for over a year straight. Unfortunately, I think I would be gone already but there is nothing worth playing, and nothing in the foreseeable future. Looks like I’ll be around for a while more… now if only I could enjoy PvE, I might get a character over 25% world completion.

Since I paid for the game I kind of feel like I need to get as much out of it as I can. It is not a good reason but that is how it is . If the game was free or if the game was like this in the very beginning then I would not be here now.
