Ok I did this early game a lot, and thought I go back to it again.
However it seems that since I last played months back, it changed.
How come you can throw the kegs from MIDFIELD all the way to the goalie these days?

How in godsname is it fun when the game is over within a few seconds?
And why the F did they increase the throwing range this much? Its crazy.

You used to pass it from player to player to get it across and only throw the last bit, now I see ppl pick it up, walk 5 steps and throw it all the way

It’s the less accurate throw, but if you can aim well it’s better.

Prince Rurik and Lady Althea. Anyone else see the incompatibilty here?

Still the range makes no sense (even saw a throw from 1 side to the other pretty much now). Kinda gets the teamwork out of it, which I thought was highly valued.

Thats why I like the first skill which actually doesnt go far but gets you to pass across to ur teammates easily. Besides when I use the inaccurate one it tends to not go so crazily far as I see some ppl throw it. Not that I intend to use it as I use quick target @ ground location which seems to even make me throw backwards sometimes with that skill xD

Are the kegs any easier to catch now?

I remember when I first played this during headstart there was the ability to throw but no ability to catch. I looked around for ages for an answer but there was none. Even now, out in wayfarer among the wurms with that guy that throws you kegs, I still see people epic fail the keg catch and I don’t think I’ve seen even one catch it properly yet.

Are there any instructions for it?

No.

The two current problems with the metagame is that Lob goes way too far, and has no way to be intercepted to the point where anyone who knows how to lob are the only relevent people on the teams.

And two is that catching/intercepting is near impossible meaning that most of the time you need to pick it up off the ground even if a Lob or Throw is perfectly alligned.

If you get a match where people agree not to Lob (or don’t know how to) the game is actually decently enjoyable and skillful.

Here’s a 3 month old post about keg brawl complaints that I made:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Keg-Brawl-Cheating-Issue/first#post893710

Since I found out that apparently it’s not a cheat but how is being able to throw across most of the field and score in anyway fun or fair? Not to mention mismatched team numbers and inability to play it with guildies/friends.

It’s a shame I love keg brawl, it has so much potential and for similar games but other than the daily there’s just no point in playing it as it stands and even then the other dailies are preferred.

I don’t believe Anet has any intention on changing or improving keg brawl any time soon. So we will just have to wait a very long time to actually enjoy keg brawl again

Calling it a cheat implies the person using it is breaking the game in order to gain an advantage not available to those playing the game without breaking it.

That isn’t what’s happening. The lob skill is being used as intended by the devs, the problem is that the lob skill is ridiculously overpowered and required very little skill to the point where it is the only effective way to play.

It kills teamwork, and creative gameplay.

It should be rebalanced.

But this doesn’t make it a cheat, it’s a development issue, not an exploit issue.

You might want to read my post again….

“Since I found out that apparently it’s not a cheat”

At the time it appeared to be a cheat/exploit/bug because you weren’t able to do that beforehand and it gives a huge unfair advantage thus in my 3 month old post I called it a cheat.

I used the term cheating in the the context of abusing a possible bug or exploit that Anet may not have been aware of. Therefore the term ‘cheat’ would still apply but since it appears to have been intended it isn’t a cheat as there is no bug or exploit involved at least none that Anet has stated or fixed.

I’ll withdraw my comments since apparently you didn’t intend to imply, yet again, that people using the skill were cheaters.

Still the range makes no sense (even saw a throw from 1 side to the other pretty much now).

As an Engineer, I can throw a grenade with my arm (range =1200) further than I can shoot a bullet from my rifle (range = 900).

How in teh kitten does that make sense?

For that matter, in Arah, why do I need to board a chopper to fly to the next part of the dungeon, when I'm already flying in an airship?

After living with those realities, I’d be confused if we couldn’t toss kegs across a field.

One of the funny things is that if you lob straight up, the keg never comes back down. Must be some sort of super strength potion in the mead from the bar brawl next door.

The title says “Keg brawl” and I don’t wan’t to fill the forums with posts about the same thing.

Though I don’t like the lob skill at all and I hope it’s being removed or realy realy nerfed I have another thing on my mind.

My guild want’s to play with each other, no not team up and beat another team though that would have been cool too But I mean private maches, yesterday I thought of taking some members of my guild to play in Keg Brawl since they hadn’t done it and they could take the daily while learning, the sad part was even grouped we all each came to a different game
Ok, we wasn’t 10 online willing to play Keg brawl but we where 8, 4vs4 would have been awesome. Afraid of cheeters? well let these maches not give achievement’s then.

Yeah its fun but the lob skill is just complete bollox, on the other hand the passing and catching is easy as you catch if someone passes it right at you.

This supports teamplay, lob howevers supports exploiting it for solo use
