My question is, through software I can remap my scroll up to a key, like page-up, and same with scroll down.

Is this considered okay to do, to allow use of the scroll wheel as a keybind?

Just curious about this, its not using any macro, but I don’t want to break the rules.

I asked for this feature to be added to the game since closed beta still nothing, even crappy swtor allows you to bind specific functions to your mouse wheel up / down.
we shouldn’t need to use 3rd party software to accomplish this simple task and doing so risk getting banned for it.

That should be fine. Its kind of the same as buying a gaming mouse with additional buttons on it; I think using an application to get that same utilization shouldn’t make the scenario any different.

They can’t really ban people for using the software that comes with their mouse unless they want to ban everyone using a gaming mouse, which is going to be a huge portion of the population. You’re not automating anything or making macros or gaining any sort of unfair advantage.
