I’m not sure how this happened, but I was kicked off a high population server during the vinewrath event and put into an empty server. Is this supposed to happen?

That’s the new World-Event-Vote-Kick feature. Better play the meta next time.

Kicked or just disconnected?

A few days ago i was doing teq with lots of people, I died and teleported to the WP. After swimming back to teq I only saw a few people running around not doing teq cause they knew they were not enough people. SO ANNOYING.

This had allways been a thing since megaservers, before if you dc ed you got kicked in some random overflow. Common on large events such as tequatl or wurm.

So there isn’t a vote to kick thing? I would really hate to see that, I don’t want this game to become like that certain other one where people abuse vote to kick just to ruin your day because they can…

yes, there is a vote to kick from an entire map. But it is not initiated by other players, but by Anet employees. Happens mostly when you haven´t bought any gems in recent weeks or your name is to their disliking…

That’s not how it works. You don’t get moved to a new map just for dying and waypointing within the same zone. You have to leave the zone (either by choice or by a disconnection) to lose your spot in it during a high traffic time.
