This has never happened to me yet. However in the dungeon forums there is one thread about being kicked right before the reward. Of course no mods are going to look at it and its kind of derailed into a thread trolling pugs. But anyways i just wanted to bring this up because last night i saw a gw2lfg post asking for 4g for a spot in a arah p2 run where they were at the last boss. I thought there was already a thread about this but i couldnt see any so i decided to make this. Unfortunately i cant remember the guys name…. but anyways there should be some way to properly report people in groups that kick. For example the guy in the other thread was explaining that after being kicked the whole party chat log was gone so he couldnt report any of the people. There should be some way to report as this behavior is truly despicable.

Well, a lot of guys do Arah with solo or with 2-3 party members, so it’s not necessarily what happened. I’m kinda curious though, as I’ve done so many dungeons in my GW2 playtime (I once had 9k Koda tokens from HOTW P1 alone), but never encountered this, yet the thread starter got FOUR in a single day alone.

That said, if it really is an issue, then screenshots are the sole proof.

The reason they can sell those spots is basically b/c there’s no X-factor pug members to rely on or who can also foul up a clean run. There’s a video right now in the Dungeon forum of a Warrior solo’ing Lupi faster than some (bad/slow) 5-mans I’ve been in. This is simply b/c more “attacks” are also generated for each additional entity in the room with him (this actually seems to be a constant with some bosses… Fight Dwayna’s Statue some time and watch what happens with her Nuking).

Positioning & dodging is like 99% of the dungeon. It’s the main reason Rangers are shunned. So it only makes sense that people who’d want to sell spots for profit, would rather run with as few party members as possible, than to take on the risk/burden of unproven PuGers (they’d only have to kick later and then risk “Bad Press” from over the forums or word of mouth). There’s also the “Scam Clause” which Anet actually used to enforce in some cases back in the day. It sounds hard to believe I’m sure but Anet actually would play arbiter to Scammy deals back in Gw1. A lot of Dungeon guilds won’t take that risk. Only someone who genuinely wanted to troll the hell out of people would go to such lengths b/c obviously there’s much easier ways to make a quick buck right now.

You can solo Arah p2, 3 and 4 (4 includes some glitches and I don’t recommend trying it). Arah p2 is very easy to solo/duo, and many people do it to make some extra money.

Unfortunately, solo’ing Arah p2 can be done by skipping lupicus, which is kind of a shame, because it’s the most interesting boss in the path, and a lot of scrubs are just running p2 with a lupi skip because they can’t handle solo’ing him.

It’s pretty ironic though that this new “wave” of PUGs getting kicked didn’t happen until people started making myriad of posts about it…

It would be sad if indeed people are being kicked so sell spots, but the evidence there is a bit lacking. I would think if people solo’d it, then they might sell spots cause they can, but who knows, there’s no limit to how low people will stoop.

What I do find interesting is that people here are actually saying that Arah can be solo’d for the most part.

I suppose that actual group play took another hit in this game while I wasn’t watching.

Just because you can’t do it doesn’t mean it can’t be done…

Wethospu solo’ed Arah p2 like 2 months into the game..

The only hard part about solo’ing Arah is Lupicus really, all the other bosses are pretty trivial, it just takes long.

Arah p4 can even be solo’ed, you just have to know how to solo Dwayna, and Grenth. And of the 2, I’d rather solo Dwayna…
