So we need to bring friends or yell in map chat / lfg and always bring mesmer ports for legendaries now? (or purchase revive orbs / afk for indefinite time hoping someone else will randomly show up)

Why the HELL are we required to kill some Champion that is AT THE END of a already long and hard jumping puzzle for Chuka and Champawat? and this is on Chuka and Champawat III too, which means after people have already sunk in all the gold for II.

If I had knew this I wouldn’t even bother with this kittenty legendary

This is worst than HPs in Heart of Magumma. I’m glad that ANet decided to stop making legendaries for once.

Which one is it? I solo’d the entire collection pretty easily on my condi Thief with the exception of the Meta ones which I mine as well had since they were the most inactive ones on the maps where people only show up after you finish all the hard work and at final part of chain. :[ Blighted Tree in VB and Nuhoch Beetles in TD (which took forever solo).

No wonder so many people were keen to do that boss last time I was there.

I can see how this would be frustrating. I really like jumping puzzles so I’ve gradually learned to do them, last time I did Dark Reverie I made it on the first attempt, and Skipping Stones is one of the few that still has me swearing at the computer.

But then legendary weapons have always required things some players don’t like. Some people despise playing WvW and genuinely struggle to survive there long enough to get the badges required for the Gift of Battle. Others have social anxiety, lots of interruptions when playing or other things which mean they avoid group content at all times so they can’t do dungeons or PvP for dungeon tokens. And then of course there’s the WvW players who are lucky enough to get a precursor and then find they have to complete all of the PvE maps they never normally go into if they want to use it.

Fortunately it’s very easy for a mesmer to portal people up, either right at the end or at any point along the cliffs where there’s only a few narrow paths and no timed jumps to deal with. For best chances I recommend asking in the map shortly after the Karka Queen event has finished.

As for the champion it’s very easy to beat. I’ve done it with just 3 people and none of us were doing anything special, just normal PvE builds, a bit of dodging. It’s probably possible to do it solo if you’re careful but I’ve not had the opportunity to try.

There’s a difference between you disagreeing with a post and a post being useless. You brought up an issue with having to kill a champion for the collection. I mentioned that this is typical of most, if not all, legendary collections. Most champions can be duo’d so if there’s nobody on the map, you can put in a LFG. I almost did just that when I needed to kill the krait queen in Kessex.

I took Ayrilana’s point to be that this is nothing all that unique, thus not worth getting worked up on the forums over.

I could turn your comment back onto you and say, ‘could you not post if you’re going to make useless tantrums?’ You could have worded your OP to ask for advice and help/ideas to overcome your obstacle, and you might have gotten more helpful (to you) replies. Instead you ranted and aren’t happy with the responses you got. You reap what you sew.

Now I understand why someone was offering 5g a head to port themselves and a friend up to that JP chest. My mesmer is parked there to farm the chest and blooming passiflora every day. That is probably the most frustrating JP in the game and having done it once I would never want to do it again.

Nothing special? it certainly is one of a kind compared to other legendaries for not only putting a champion in a secluded area, but also having it at the end of a jumping puzzle which makes it even less accessible.

How would you suggest going about it?

Switch class and gear and redo the whole jumping puzzle you’ve already completed? Maybe spend some extra money and gold on those mobile trading posts, bank, and rez orb?

Find some glitch spot cliff / tree / ceiling of a building so you can afk solo it?

Put up an LFG hoping others will want do the jumping puzzle just to help you kill some random champion? Would you want to do a jumping puzzle just to help some random stranger kill a champion if you weren’t going for the same achievement? I’ve even saw people just swoop by, grab the chest, and left while I was fighting the champion for them.

It’s these same, exact “challenging” group contents that almost killed this game that they had to release the most recent patch to fix things, and you people are still going to continue to post “GIT GUD”, “LOL I SOLOED THE ENTIRE MAP NO PROBLEM”, “GROUP CONTENT” without posting any proofs that you’ve done so.

stop complaing
When I and I’m sure with this, already very many other people before of me can do this successfully, then YOU can do that too …

If you don’t want to do that, then this Legendary simpyl ins’t for you and you are not worhy to own this legendary.

The path on the precursor Tigris also contained some things which I hoped I don#t need to do again, this JP included, but I did it again.
This includes also some other silly JPs, like that one in the Sylvari Starting area, where you can also fall to death and have no WP in the near to quickly retry, where you ned to have ressurection orbs if you dont want to rerun all the way back (you know, these things also need somewhere there reason for existance if not for stuff like this)

Made yesterday Tigris and was really surprised how quick I made it within a few days only (but thats maybe also because i realyl want to have that legendary and are realyl focused currently on working for it, that i get the impression I made a huge effort in short time ^^)

the journey on it felt great and fun so far, now comes after tigris the last part that requires all the exploration and so on and specic rarest materials to get all the kinds of gifts, however – getting to Tigris isn’t realy hard nor does it require absolute impossible efforts to make it.

Like said, if you just get yourself demoralized by 1 single task to do so short before getting Tigris, then this Legendary simply isn#t somethign for you and personally I’d go even so far, that legendary weapons as a whole are nothing for you OP, if you get so easily angered over such small things, like MAYBE having to ask in a situation in the game for some help of other players if you need some, or because you want to do something in the game like a JP and take instead the service of an other player which can port you to your goal point for a small fee, that absolutely NO ONE should hurt at all, because whoever has enough gold to work on a legendary weapon, surely should have also the freaking 1-2 gold that one playr might ask for to port you to your goal, if you therefore have not to move anymore 1 single finger to get what you need/want

God, the entitlement in this thread is so strong…some people really need to finally learn and accept, that there might be some things to do in this game, which they usually don’t do (or wouldn’t do again), if they want to obtain something in the game that is new there… seriously

ANd like othery have said, there are also many taskas in the progress of making Tigris, which require you to play together with other players in Fractals and other thigns to do specific tasks..

Should everyone here now make a tamper tantrum like you OP, because we had to do like 4 different Fractals together with other players to get Tigris???

This would get us nowhere..

But if this is the kind of thinking of yours, maybe its best for you then to play rather games like Tetris, then you don’t have problems like this…

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside

I just wanted to point out that you can go to the pvp lobby or any wvw map, get items from your bank/TP/vendors, and then click Leave the Mists on the pvp or wvw menu. It’ll drop you right back on your previous pve location.

If you read the above posts looking for ideas, you’d find several suggestions for “going about it” that don’t require you re-spec-ing or re-gearing.

The only reasonable suggestion I can see is to hop into pvp and change gear using the bank or TP there, and I’ll admit I have overlooked that

Paying others for help is as silly as paying others to get your event to fail for legendaries.

I killed the champion and got the achievement already.

All I’m saying is I’m tried of these oversights and stupidly “challenging” contents.

These champions in the middle of nowhere are not challenging in any fun way; they are just unreasonably annoying because you either get help and it becomes another auto-attack event or you switch class/gear and maybe spend non-trivial time walking all the way back to where the champ is. Some of the champions are also basically impossible to solo regardless of of your class/gear.

I had to do fractals for nevermore, guess what? I couldn’t get anybody interested in doing them with me because they’re not the dailies. I sucked it up and solod the ones I could and I got a couple of guildies to help me with the ones that require multiple people like dredge.
