it would confuse and frighten casual players. So this will not happen.

I am talking about not the only direct attack, but a different ways of how it could be done. I remember one mission in GW1 in Vabbi, there we must use Light of Seborhin. It is something like that. When we know that everything could be done by only the direct attack, it makes all less interesting.

very well said and true . shame every one is scared and just wants to get into a Conner like a little child . when it is more fun to get out and just kill the bosses head on and move around a bit

then maybe these casual players should learn how to play the game the way it was meant to be played and not hide in the corner like scared little kids . and if they can not handle that easy thing then they need to find something different so they can play

I never played GW1 so no idea what you’re talking about but haven’t they started using something like this in LS:S2 and in the Silverwastes? The Facets need certain buffs/debuffs to damage them, The Shadow Dragon needs the ring of fire (and the little shadow critters need the fire buff to damage them) and in Silverwastes the Thrasher boss at Vinewrath gives you the purple cloud buff to do more damage.

I believe this thought process was used in the creation of fractals. I don’t think that this system would complement open world PvE very well at all. At least not the way the base game is now. We might possibly see some of these used in HoT, but I’m uncertain of that.

Also as Adaephon has said, these tactics are also used in LS 2 and certain bosses in SW.

I would like to see some bosses where you have to kill or break various parts of it first before you could damage the main body. You see a lot of examples like this in the Final Fantasy games.

A good example could be a Kraken or Hydra where you have to destroy all the arms/heads. Another could be a giant with a massive shield in his hands, break his shield then you can hit him. Don’t even mention Claw of Jormag and the shield, that’s just……annoying to say the least lol..the one time (that I recall) they did do this for a boss and it’s done so annoyingly (pick up weapon, use weapon, repeat over and over and over). :P

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

wait a second. you want to blame casual players for the corner stacking tactic? i take that as a personal insult, since i’m a casual dungeoneer and i really hate stacking in a corner. i much prefer to run the dungeon “casually” instead of abusing the game mechanics to make it go faster. and by casual dungeoneer, i mean that i’ve been playing 3 years and haven’t even earned my “dungeon master” title yet

it’s the speedclear dungeon hard core players who always insist on stacking in a corner for “optimal performance” for the fastest kill… for example: read the RT “PvE” class guides on Dulfy. they all talk about stacking in corners.

in my opinion, they are all also mis-named “PvE” guides when they should be named “dungeon speedclear” guides.

PvE encompasses dungeons, fractals, open world, world bosses, personal story, dynamic events, living world, jumping puzzles, gathering, crafting, levelling-up, hero challenges, guild missions, and soon to be adventures and “hard content”: many things that are NOT covered or even mentioned in most of their guides.

yes, i really do hate it when people say “PvE” when they really mean “dungeon speedclear.” at least some people say “endgame PvE” and include cursed shore, silverwastes, and dry top as part of the “endgame” category

ctrl+click skill 1 on charrzooka, hit j (walking toggle), afk = win. That boss is definitely not a good example for that!

But yeah, I don’t mind this idea. Possibly like the Jade Maw in fractals. I wouldn’t mind seeing some HoT open world bosses like this.

well maybe you should and see all the fun your missing out on . heck i would even help you with it and get you used to it . then you could see what iam getting at fully. and far as ls:s2 and silver wastes goes , they could do the same thing there too if they tried it. but knowing better . that will not happen let,s say .
