Why did Anet delete them from Gem Store?

They’re not deleted per say. They rotate the items in and out of the gemstore every once in a while. Just keep checking, I’m sure they’ll be back at some point. And be sure to check when they do sales, they tend to bring a couple things back each time.

They change what’s offered in the gem store periodically both so it’s not cluttered with tons of things to scroll through before you find the things you want and to create/increase demand.

If an item is always available people like me end up telling ourselves we’ll get it ‘one day’, probably, when it’s convenient…and may never actually do it. If it’s going away next week and no one knows when exactly it’ll be back then there’s more of an incentive to actually make a decision.

I hope they rotate soon. I finally maxed out my ranger and wanted to buy the Viper’s or Krytan gear for transmutation, only to find that they had been removed from the store while I was leveling.

I know your pain OP, I’m waiting for Phalanx armor set to come back, so I can finish my Guardians look.

I find it a stupid thing to do. There is obvious still buyers for these outfits/armor skins, to remove them is shooting themselves in the foot. I am in the same boat myself and removing them is now costing them sales they would have had otherwise. The Gemstore has become an annoyance and frustrating – not an experience you want potential buyers to go through.

Out of all things in GW2, the gemstore is the biggest sore spot in the game and the constant mishandling there of. The more buying options the better, not less. If the pricing wasn’t worse enough, now we don’t know if something will be there or not to buy? These are digital items, there is no excuse for this. Barely any items in the first place and now they are removing items like this?

Yep, the irony is not lost on me, considering I was just complaining this morning about this. I still think it is anti-consumer practice and not all happy about it.

Anet (and many other businesses, online and in real life) does this to create an environment of artificial scarcity. This makes (many) gem store customers buy items sooner instead of thinking on it because the items may/will be gone soon. Anet gets paid, people get their items and scratch that impulse buyer itch, and the cycle continues. Now, you may not be that kind of customer, but the model clearly works to some extent; if it didn’t, they probably wouldn’t stick with that tactic.
