Q:
This is something that has sort of bothered me for a while now… not in a bad way, just in a “I must know it” way.
Skritt have a kind of “hive mind” in that when they are alone they have all the brains of a blueberry muffin, but when they are in a large group they are at least as intelligent as a human. The Skritt in LA are, quite clearly, very intelligent and some are even hilariously arrogant and savvy merchants, but there doesn’t seem to be enough of them around to warrant it.
Is there a Skritt colony nearby? Is it perhaps mentioned outside of the game (or somewhere in-game that I’ve missed/forgotten) that they have a very large population in the city and the ones in-game are token representatives?
We need more Skritt regardless of the answer…

I think the lions arch we see seems to only be the merchants and the shops. Seems like just the Market side of LA but in the living story it makes it seem as LA has thousands of people living in it.

Don’t worry the skritt you overheard was just myself and a friend having fun with skritt tonics! There is no underground rat colony in the sewers at all panning to take down LA and the elder dragons and enslave the whole of tyria for their sick, twisted plans of turning everyone into living shinies. Honestly theres not….. 
Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?
Could be that there are exceptions that are fairly intelligent even without the hive mind, which is part of the reason why they decided to move to LA, rather than live in a scratch.
