LFG Fractals lvl XYZ
† November 16th, 2012
The best mechanic Anet could do is remove the lowest player level achievement. At a very basic standpoint, a level 1 person could jump up to 10+ if they join the right group. Yes, it’s a little unfair to the people who had to get to the higher levels, but it makes catching up easy to do. My guess why they don’t do this is because the rate of progression would be faster than they’d like…. The problem I see though is that it really divides and gates the community severely.
What about people with a lower lvl can join higher lvl, but they will get rewards of their highest lvl unlocked (but still go up 1 lvl instead of having to do low lvl floors)

This is a fantastic idea.
If I am lvl 2, and join a lvl 10 group, I can still play with the group but at the end of the fractal run I only bump myself up to 2 and receive rewards based on MY level, not the level of the group.
This does a few things:
-Removes the player-gated content wall in that, any player can join any group
-Still gives you incentive to continue progressing your fractal level to get higher reward
-Once you complete the fractal run, you still bump up one fractal. So if you were a fractal level 2 joining a fractal level 10 group, at the end of the run you’re highest fractal level is 3.
-When you progresss your level, you develop the ability to start your own group with a high fractal level and extend this helping hand to someone else that is of low level.
I like this idea. Arenanet, please listen to this man. This would satisfy me more than chocolate cake (provided the player community openly accepts lower fractal players in their groups and still do not shun them).
You think that a group doing a level 10 run want a player with level 2 experience? Not likely. I wouldn’t care if this was implemented, but outside of guild groups I doubt this would accomplish anything.
Meh.
Fractals are not that hard. You can expect people above lvl 2 to know everything one can know ’bout them.
I’m currently spamming “lfg fractals lv5” in various districts since about half an hour now, hoping for a chance to get the best gear for my toon.
Anyone who remembers how this game was advertised will see that this is wrong at multiple levels.
Still, is there any “tactic” that may fasten up group search?
To answer your question, try any of these:
1. Join a second guild specifically for running Fractals. For example the one in this thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/FotM-guild-created-Ranks-editable/first#post809512
2. Make your own group and LFM rather than LFG, people will come out of the woodwork when you do that.
3. If your own server is really quiet, log out in LA and back in, and see if the Overflow is any better.
4. Change servers entirely for a week if you don’t mind doing that.
5. Use this 3rd party LFG website until the in-game tool is more useful, it’s cross-server so you can join anyone in your region:
