Currently the LFG Tool is completly useless to me. You cant choose if someone is allowed to join, you can not set desired classes, levels, or even achievement points.
If I want to do a fast run of AC story for daily achievement for example and add lvl 80 only to the description, the group fills within 10 seconds of low lvl people.
Or if I look for experienced people to do Arah or CoE the group fills within seconds with people of less than 1000 achievement points.
Will keep using gw2lfg until this gets improved.

I am agreeing with you. But keep in mind that the tool is still in beta and will be improved in the future.

However, some mechanics are already in place, but are not implemented in the tool: i.e. when you join a party then that party needs to accept your invitation. This is something that needs to be implemented as soon as possible. Additionally, it would be great if you can only inspect the class of the person joining you. Or create an selection box where you can tick off which classes can join your party.

Putting in additional filters like ‘minimum of xxx AP’ etc is a bad idea, since there are also good, new players out there that want to learn the game and are not skipping content, rushing through stuff or ragequit in the middle of a run (those are the three most annoying things encountered while pugging). On the other side there are also a lot of people with a huge amount of AP who play their class very poorly. So having high AP is not directly related to ‘skill’.

If you want to do a speedrun / rush content / etc, then put it in your LFG message. I usually just do the opposite and mention that the group I’m creating is non-rushy, etc. Makes it a lot easier to remove those people afterwards from your party, but so far this hasn’t happened at all. The one rushy person eventually dies and falls back in line when they notice that the majority of the party is not rushing through content. This always makes me chuckle! (-:

Just my two cents…

I dont remember seeing anyone with 10k+ points who plays worse than someone with less than 1k point yet. This is most likely only the case if that player specizialised on sPvP for example.
Also as I said most people do not read your descriptions, if you say lvl 80 only or experienced only, low lvl people and people who never did this before still join. So at the very least a “Did this path successfully before” option is a needed.

First of all I’d like to state that the LFG tool works tremendously well. It’s fast, easy to use and very efficient. I also like that you can see the composition of the party.

Something does bother me. When I assemble a Guild Party, some people stay on their low level character to level it, until the party is full. I tried to fill the last two spots with the LFG tool, while my other two party members were still exploring with level 10 characters. I could not create a LFG or see any existing ones, because they did not have the required level for CoF. I’d like to see/create LFG’s whenever I want, just to save time.

When I’m exploring and feel like doing a dungeon, I want to be able to pop up the tool, pick something and switch afterwards, so 1. I won’t waste time waiting for a party and 2. I won’t miss the party because I switched first.

I do believe other options for your personal LFG can be added. The website lets you pick additions like ‘Speedrun’ ‘Experienced Only’ or ’I’m new’. I believe this is very helpful to choose the group that suits you best. Some people like to kill everything they find and some like to skip as much as possible. A level 80 only requirement would seem useful too. Dungeons are just a lot easier if all party members have the max level and decent gear. Another option like ‘all levels welcome’ can then be added too, so lower level characters will not be ignored.

So overall a very nice and useful tool: it’s fast and easy. I’d like to be able to choose more options for my own message to filter different players to create the most suitable groups according to the situation.
