I think the buying/selling on LFG has been getting out of hand again. Unlike the previous time when it started being used like this, there doesn’t appear to have been a crackdown on it. Lately it has been used for buying/selling account bound items that are then dumped into guild treasuries, selling/buying guilds themselves, selling character names, guilds recruiting, and the random buy/sell of other items like legendaries/mats sprinkled in. I also laughed when I saw “selling VG kill for 100g” but I suppose that counts about as selling dungeon/fractals and is technically allowed.

when i see this i think it is sad for that tool being used in that way . and people ruining the chance of being ripped off . shame anet will not fix this

I don’t think ANET can do anything except ban the players for LFG abuse, as yes you should not be able to sell shovels!

Report them. ANet can’t punish them if no one reports them.

This is pretty trivial to worry about. I don’t think Anet really cares. I haven’t heard of anyone being actions against for using the LFG as a sale/buy tool. Just my two cents.

They have taken action before, and multiple statements were made by Gaile about it then.

I think Anet checked out for the holidays somewhere around November. I wouldn’t expect anything of value to happen before January.

There are/will be things of value happening, albeit more limited as closer to end of month, but yeah probably not a lot of action on this. Definitely doesn’t seem to be the severe crackdown we had happen before. When one person starts doing it, others see it and copy. It’s been quite bad and I guess it will remain bad from now on.

I’m sure Customer Service staff are busier now, for a variety of reasons. Sometimes they like to do a mass suspension, rather than a few at a time.

I agree that it’s an issue; I don’t agree that it’s urgent.

As for the showels, they could make them available for bandit crests at the SW seller, issue gone. :P
As for the rest… well yeah… If it is intended, they should at least introduce a “Trade” panel within the LFG, so that you don’t have to go through all of this if you’re looking for living world content.
Other than that, I have made some good money out of the people that desperately wanted to buy celestial stuff with all the golden quartz I collected over the years while never actually using them so… I’m not complaining at all. :P
