LFG and trolls
[Teef] guild :>
Im going to go out on a limb here and say that they may not actually be trolling you, depending on where you are posting it ( IE under open world content ) if people are trying to taxi in, the LFG can move fast, there are times ive went to click on a party to join and its already gone and the window has scrolled and its made me join someones random party that I had no interest in joining.
If of course its in a dungeon lfg or pvp then yes it maybe a troll.
Maybe the LFG should have a selectable party size and the post should remain until the party size is filled or the person who made the post manually removes it.
Also if you are trying to taxi people into a map and your map is full, they could have been trying to enter your map but realized it’s full so they left.
The reverse end of this can happen as well.
Taxi groups fill up with such frequency that you can click join, not get in the group, but still get flagged by LFG as having joined.
One night, I had this happen to me with such frequency that I effectively locked myself out of LFG and missed out on joining an organized DS map before they all filled.
The one I’ve had is two people join a taxi I create, and then kick me stealing the party I created. That is unbelievably rude.
I highly doubt that reporting those people for LFG abuse would do anything in this case :|
A single report isn’t going to do anything, of course. It will take several reports about the same individuals before ANet can reasonably take action. And if it’s not a single person doing it, then it’s unlikely that it’s trolling; it’s more likely it’s someone changing their mind or folks taxiing into open world zones.
I do agree with the OP: it’s annoying to lose the LFG because someone joined and then leaves. I’d like to see a grace period:
- If someone joins and leaves within 2 minutes, the LFG returns automatically.
- If someone joins and leaves within 5 minutes, the posting doesn’t count in terms of determining a cooldown for the poster.
- Or, at the very least, increase the cooldown so that it never starts within less than 5 minutes of the initial LFG.

LFG needs a lot of improvements. Option to only showing LFGs in you current zone would help a heck of a lot
There is a simple solution which should have been apart of the tool since day one. When someone tries to join your party they have to be accepted or rejected. This should have been the same with looking for group. Although maybe it was something to hard to code.
