I just read the news that says the LFG tool is being disabled. I made some basic browsing to find the reason; no search, given that that tool is also bugged. I found no information at all.

So why is this tool disabled? Did ArenaNet provide any more information?

They don’t speak about a bug or abuse but rather an “issue”. I find this strange.

well the fact that LFG is still in BETA, I expect it to be buggy and to go down once in a while for updates.

After maintenance today there was a problem with the EU LFG. When they where trying to fix that they took it and then the NA LFG offline.

I would imagine one issue could be bad behavior by either group founders or those that join. I’ve read a lot of complaints on these forums from people getting kicked from parties, being insulted by the party leaders or peers, micro managed. I would imagine you have more fun with people you know and I think ANet can see that too.

And since it’s an application, it’s probably buggy.

Thanks Yargesh for the explanation. I would have been really surprised if ArenaNet fixed the core issues linked to this tool, which are the abuse and the limitation to 3 posts in a limited amount of time.

I used the LFG tool today, joined a party for CM story and at the end of the dungeon the party leader leaves right before we get the reward. No level up and no gold.
These trolls are getting annoying.

Fair enough…..I am just stating what I’ve read, I don’t spend too much time in dungeons, more WvW than anything.

Lfg bug =/

I’m glad I got a dungeon run in last night My guild’s small enough that most of our dungeoning generally requires filling a slot or two from LFG, and it’s been lovely to be able to do that. Even if we do get some surprise from our puggers when they realize that our LFG comment “killing mobs” means we’re, you know, not rushing past mobs.

Here’s hoping LFG comes back asap.

There’s also the issue of people being frequently griefed by the “merge” option.

And exactly how is that related to the lfg tool. ? The very same thing could happen to a group formed by using gw2lfg or the ingame chat in Lion’s Arch.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the dungeon sellers and abusers of the tool ruined it for everyone else. Sucks for them, looks like they’ll have to earn their gold like the rest of us.

I wonder if it is down due to some bug I saw the other day. Sometimes if you joined via LFG tool you couldn’t enter the instance with your party. In my case I had to log out and back in to join my party. I noticed this happen a few times with others as well.

Not sure how dungeon sellers ruined it when dungeon selling is officially condoned by Anet.

Except that they can still sell runs using other tools like gw2lfg.com
