LVL 50 not good enough for easiest dungeon
I had the same problem a little while back. I’m mostly a solo player but I id try to get into a group for AC but no one wanted a level (at the time) 45 in their group, especially one that had not already done the dungeon before.
Yeah, it’s pretty lame. That was the main reason i left wow. Feel Like I’m right back in wow now.
That’s unfortunate. Me and my guildies ran a lvl 35 dungeon (AC) with a lvl 26. But of course, we are all friends/guildmates though.
pubs in general aren’t as kind though. Try joining a dungeoning guild!
Sorry, but what gear did you have? Full masterwork level equipment is very easy to get, you probably wouldn’t spend more than 30silver for a full set, even if you were level 80.
Edit: That being said, if you’re talking about Ascalon Catacombs storymode, that’s rather pathetic of them seeing as story dungeons are deliberately toned down for dungeon newcomers.

If the group doesn’t want you for your gear, believe me, you don’t want that group.
They must suck hard to worry about that for AC…
What you will find is often times people that are running explorable modes are wanting speed runs because they have already ran them ad nauseum. If this was for a story mode then there is absolutely no way to defend this behavior. I don’t like to be “the sky is falling” type of doomsayer, but I feel with this latest content patch you will only continue to see this type of behavior. The issue however is not with gating mechanics or gear checks, it completely revolves around player mentality, long gone are the days when players actually wanted to help other players through content so they can learn mechanics of the games. The mmorpg genre as a whole has been hurling down this “I am more important than anyone else” mindset for a long time. Initially this game tried to subvert that type of playstyle with everyone getting credit for mob tags, and everyone being able to mine a resource node, and with multiple ways to achieve the “best in stat” gear. Now with this latest patch and the increased popularity of the game it would appear the developers pandered to the “me first” crowd. I suspect it will only get worse, this of course is only my opinion as I have no solid numbers to sling around for proof, sad really that a group of players that come to a game more or less demanding the game be changed to suit their particular playstyle were able to have such a impact so quickly.
If it’s explorable chances are they want another lvl 80 to have an easier time farming the tokens.

uhmmmm… you sure about that? The min for AC story is 30… so not sure how you say you got a lvl 26 in there.
Stat increase = gear grind.
Gear grind = no money from me ever again.

Yup yup. Try it. They won’t be up leveled to 30 (or 35 in my case) but they can definitely join.
To be quite honest, I’m not even totally sure what the difference between story and explorer mode is. There is nothing in game, so far, that I have seen, that tells me what the two are. I know I could go to the wiki and find out but, so far, I’ve found the entire dungeon experience (or lack thereof) to be kind of a turn off.
I’m sure I’ll give it a closer examination at a later date but so far, it’s just seems like a lot less hassle to ignore that entire aspect of the game. I did enjoy the Mad King mini-dungeon so I am interested in seeing what a dungeon is like but it’s been a very unfriendly experience to newbie solo players.
