Lack of Endgame a Double Edged Sword
I completely agree with you. They better be listening or else! waves fist
My thought here is that when we have something good, we always want more!
Im only level 38 or 39, and I actually bought into the game prerelease. Your level of time commitment must be pretty high, I feel like I have played quite a bit and still not reached level cap or seen most of the world map.
Though I would agree, I do think there is always some room for improvement, and right now im optimistic that the game can only get better.

I don’t know if I’d wave my fist, but I agree with the rest of your post. Here’s hoping they make changes soon.
Me for one, i think it’s awesome ….
This game was more fun in 3 weeks than, WoW in 3 years ….
As for endgame:
Did you do ALL explorables yet?
Sure, may not be because of gear … but y’know… it’s fun!
Dunno, but for me it’s more fun to do stuff because of “being fun to play” rather than having to do it to grind Gear, which I need to farm further Gear, which … you guess it, is used to farm further Gear… which… ok, … i think you get it !
What they guy above me said… ever tried to have fun instead of waving your kitten?
My idea of finishing map means I talked to majority of npcs and checked their dialogues not just ran from poi to vista to skill challege and as soon as i got 100% left and never came back.
I played a game like DAoC for over 5 years, just mostly doing PvP alone. So far WvW is pretty fun (Not on DAoC’s level, nothing ever can be) but for me that is my endgame. :P
If you like your carrot on a stick type of gameplay there are plenty of others out there…Though you have a point, it would be nice to see other types of new things to do at level cap.

This is trophy hunting. This is exactly what console games do once you beat them, give you more objectives that are trivial just so you can feel like you’re accomplishing things. This is a competitive game, it’s focus is PvP, that’s why they have tournaments and are wanting an e-sport to come out of it.
There is no character progression at 80, I don’t know if that will ever change. This game has heaps of potential, I just feel it was a bit pushed out too early.
