I was touring through Tyria, looking at houses and discovering places, like in Lion’s Arch which is gone tomorrow

And suddenly something hit me. I’ve never seen a bath, a shower, a sink or toilet or anything that has anything to do with common hygiene.

The only conclusion i can come up with is that the people of Tyria have never heard of hygiene, and just smell really bad. If dragons’s won’t wipe out humanity (and other races), i’m sure an epidemic will!

Imagine what Marjory and Kasmeer smell like by now without showers, baths and such.

We have water closets.

They have running water, toilets, and a sewer system.
They’re quite hygienic – it just isn’t something shown in game because it isn’t like you ever go inside someone’s bathroom…

In Sylvari Home instance (The Grove) you can see showers

It’s to desensitize you to horrible stenches so you don’t immediately die from vomiting out all your internal organs the second you step into Orr.

A whole island of dead things isn’t going to smell like a field of daisies.

Also just thinking about it “Just don’t ask me if anything lives down there” evidently the Water Closet dude is the evil big bad guy! Either that or it’s a giant Golgothan down there…..
